Your Saturday freebie is the Under in this afternoon's Syracuse-Miami game.

True, the 'Cuse enters on a little bit of an "offensive" surge, as each of their last 3 games have landed Over the posted price. Keep in mind that prior to the Orange's recent spate of Overs, they had held Under the posted price in their previous 3 ACC tilts.

As for the Hurricanes, Jim Larranaga's team has played their last pair of conference games, and 3 of their last 5 games Under the total in ACC action.

The key to the Under today is the series numbers, as these teams like to play 'em low when they get together for 40 minutes. Each of the last 3 played between these schools have landed Under the total, and the Under stands at 4-1-1 in the 6 All-Time showdowns they have had since Syracuse joined the ACC a few years back.

Going to look for this one to be played at a slower, half-court pace on Saturday afternoon at The U.

Syracuse-Miami Under.

3* SYRACUSE-MIAMI (FLA) UNDER

TOMMY BRUNSON

Tough spot for Northwestern - even at home - as the Wildcats only average 69.3 points per game, and today they may be without as 12-points per game scorer in Bryant McIntosh who injured his shoulder in the Wildcats last game on Tuesday night in a road loss at Rutgers.

Now, the Wildcats must try and slow a Michigan State team that posts over 83 points per contest this season! Michigan State is up to # 2 in the land, and they have won 9 straight. They seem to be playing a lot looser now that the glare of the ESPN investigation into Tom Izzo has ebbed, as Sparty just hammered the depleted Golden Gophers a game after upending Purdue.

Chris Collins' team is a middling 4-5 their last 9, as they have dropped to 15-12 and pretty much off the Big Dance radar. Yeah, an upset today at home would go a long way on the resume, but remember that the 'Cats have dropped 8 straight in the series, failing the last 3 plus the points and 6 of the 8 overall against the math.

Too much of everything today for Northwestern to contain. Just a matter of time. Lay away with Michigan State in Evanston this Saturday afternoon.

3* MICHIGAN STATE

JIMMY BOYD

Drexel vs. Hofstra
Free Pick on Drexel +

I'm recommending grabbing the points and backing the Dragons on the road against the Pride. Hofstra is simply getting too much respect at home, which is nothing new.

The Pride are 8-20 ATS in their last 28 home games vs a team with a losing home record and a mere 1-8 ATS in their last 9 at home vs a team that's won fewer than 40% of their road games.

Let's also not overlook the first meeting between these two teams, as it went right down to the wire with Hofstra edging out a 5-point win. Note that each of their two meetings last year were decided by 2-points or less.

Revenge has also served as a great motivator for the Dragons, as they are 51-28 ATS in their last 79 when revenging a home loss and 8-2 ATS in their last 10 when revenging a loss where they allowed 75 or more points. Take Drexel!

West Virginia vs. Kansas
West Virginia +3.5

The West Virginia Mountaineers and the Kansas Jayhawks face off on Saturday and in this game the underdogs have the value.

One thing different between the Jayhawks this year and years past is their struggles at home. They haven't been able to use the magic that they used to have at Fog Allen, and that will be the case again in this one.

The first time these two teams played the Mountaineers had a great first half, but then really struggled in the second half of the game.

Their press will lead to a lot of Kansas Jayhawks turnovers, and the Jayhawks won't be able to comeback in this game.

Back the Mountaineers.

Good Luck, Cappers Club.

MATT JOSEPHS
NCAA-B | Feb 17, 2018
SMU vs. UCF
UCF-3

It's a battle of attrition as two injury ravaged teams play with Central Florida hosting SMU. UCF is without four players, but have still won three of their last five. They lost to SMU down in Dallas 56-51 in a low scoring close game that featured both teams pretty close to healthy. The Knights are led by BJ Taylor and AJ Davis who average over 25 points per game. Ceasar DeJesus and Dayon Griffin have also come on since the loss of Tacko Fall. SMU is without Shake Milton, Jarrey Foster and Everett Ray. They've lost four in a row and had problems even finding enough healthy bodies to practice this week. This team has wins at Wichita State and against Arizona on a neutral court, but that was a full roster. Now they have six players pretty much. The defense has been terrible and the confidence has to be low. I'll take the home team.

Texas vs. Oklahoma
Oklahoma-6½

Oklahoma is worth a look here. I have faded this team on the road a ton and it has worked out great. I will now look to back them here as they have been struggling, but 3 of their last 4 games were on the road. This is a rivalry game in which the Sooners will want revenge. Oklahoma is just simply a different team at home with a 11-1 record.

Indiana vs. Iowa
Play - Iowa (Game 526).

Edges - Hawkeyes: the host is 13-4-1 ATS n Iowa’s games this season; and Hoosiers: 4-15 SUATS last nineteen games in this series… With the Hawkeyes 5-0-1 ATS with same season revenge from a loss to Indiana of 13 or more points, we recommend a 1* play on Iowa. Thank you and good luck as always.

Bruins vs. Canucks

On Saturday night in the NHL, Play Over on road teams like BOSTON who have won 20 or more of their last 25 games. In the last five seasons, this situation is 23-4, 85.2 percent!

STEPHEN NOVER
NCAA-B | Feb 17, 2018
SMU vs. UCF
UCF-3

SMU is 2-8 away from home and struggling without its leading scorer, Shake Milton. The Mustangs have lost their last three road games by nine points each to Houston and Tulsa and by 11 to Connecticut. They are 1-7-1 ATS in their last nine away contests. The Mustangs are 0-4 SU, 1-3 ATS since Milton was lost with a hand injury. Central Florida has been pointing to this matchup since SMU knocked it out of the American Athletic Conference Tournament last season. Even with 7-foot-6-center Tacko Falls out for the season due to a shoulder injury, the Knights have enough defense and rebounding to cover this small number. SMU has been outrebounded by nearly five boards a game on the road. Senior forward A.J. Davis is stepping up for UCF averaging 23 points and nine rebounds in the last two games. The Knights have covered in 12 of their last 16 home games.

ROB VINCILETTI
NHL | Feb 17, 2018
Maple Leafs vs. Penguins
OVER 6

The NHL Comp play is on the Over in the Toronto at Pittsburgh game at 7:05 eastern. Expect a high scoring game here between two teams that have several offensive weapons. The first game between these two netted 7 goals and we van expect more of that tonight. The Leafs are on fire and have flown over in 3 straight and 6 of 8 on 2 days rest. Pittsburgh has played over the total in 5 of 6 off a 3+ game win streak and is averaging nearly 4 goals here at home. Play this one over the total. On Saturday the highest rated 7* 2018 NCAAB Game of the Year is up and backed with a huge 100% system and several top angles. There are 4 more plays up including a 5* Total a Big East and SEC 5* Sides and more. For the NHL Free play. Take Toronto and Pittsburgh over the total. RV- GC Sports

ENNIS MACKLIN

San Jose State vs. Wyoming
Wyoming-15½

DMack's Free Play for Saturday, Februray 17, 2018 is on the Wyoming Cowboys

San Jose State is a hard trying bunch but at the end of the day, the Spartans are still 3-21 and 10-13 ATS. SJSU is 1-19 straight up as a dog so we are basically looking to make a case for the Cowboys to cover this big number. In the first meeting three weeks ago in NoCal, Wyoming hung on in a game that it led 47-33 at the half and hung on for a 90-86 (-11) win. The Cowboys are a streaking shooting team that went ice cold in the second half. Here, Wyoming is home after bad losses at UNLV and San Diego State in games the Pokes got behind the eightball early and never challenged. This is a tough place to play and the Spartans are the perfect cure for whatever as been bothering the Cowboys. Wyoming 88-63.

MIKE LUNDIN
NHL | Feb 17, 2018
Oilers vs. Coyotes
OVER 5½

The Edmonton Oilers will visit the Arizona Coyotes at Gila River Arena on Saturday, and I think there's plenty of reasons to expect a high-scoring contest.

Arizona has won four of its last five, scoring 20 goals in the process and the over is 6-1 in Coyotes last seven overall. Even better, they're coming off a 5-2 win over Montreal and over is 11-1-1 in Coyotes last 13 after scoring five goals or more in their previous game.

Here the Coyotes will face an Edmonton defense that has conceded an average of 3.34 goals per game on the season, and over is 6-2 in Oilers last eight overall.

My free pick is on EDM @ ARI to go OVER the total.
