Game: (717) South Florida at (718) Depaul
Date/Time: Apr 3 2019 8:00 PM EDT
Betting Line Provider: Westgate
Play Rating: 4%
Play: Depaul -5.5 (-110)

View Analysis

WEDNESDAY #718 4* DePaul -5.5 USF
Best of three with DePaul getting next two at home after USF survived with a two-point win Monday night. USF hasn’t played a road game since Match 6th . DePaul shot only 38.5 % vs USF and managed to only lose by two and that was the only time they were under 43% since February 2nd. USF has shot 41.3% their last 5 games and at home they managed only 42.3% versus the DePaul. The Bulls will not be able to keep up on offense.

PHILADELPHIA -141
PHILADELPHIA @ WASHINGTON | 4/03 | 1:05 PM EDT

The Bryce Harper-is-back hysteria from Tuesday night’s Phillies at Nationals game should be less intense for the next day’s matinee. It also helps that Philadelphia will have Aaron Nola on the mound. Nola didn’t have his best stuff on Opening Day, but still allowed just one run over six innings in a win over the Braves. He was dominant in four of his five starts against Washington last year, allowing two or fewer runs over 6-8 innings in each. Anibal Sanchez, 35, makes his debut for the Nats, but he isn’t likely to go more than five innings and he’s backed by a bullpen with an ERA over 10. The Nats have the bats to take advantage.

Diamondbacks starter Robbie Ray was knocked around in his opener, but against this Padres lineup is a lifetime .209 against him, provided a good spot for a rebound. Padres starter Joey Lucchesi was miserably in five starts against Arizona -- there's some credence to it, but this D'backs order has a lot of differences. One other big difference between these teams: Through six games, Arizona is averaging twice as many runs (6.7) as San Diego (3.2). That disparity won't last, but the current trend plus this pitching matchup makes the underdog looks appetizing.

CHI. CUBS -105
CHI. CUBS @ ATLANTA | 4/03 | 5:20 PM MDT
Chicago is 1-3 but has scored 28 runs. Atlanta is 1-3 with 19 runs. The Cubs need a pitcher to get outs, and Jon Lester gets the ball against a Braves lineup that's hitting .182 against lefties so far this season. Lester himself has been historically solid against Atlanta. Julio Teheran is maddeningly inconsistent, but he was subpar in his one start on Opening Day and subpar against the Cubs last year. Both starters are backed by two of the worst-performing bullpens in the game. I think the crafty Lester lasts longer and the Cubs get him a lead

SAN FRANCISCO +170
SAN FRANCISCO @ L.A. DODGERS | 4/03 | 8:10 PM MDT
The Giants beat the Dodgers in the opener of the series, and an error led to five unearned runs as L.A. won Game 2 Tuesday night. San Francisco can compete when it plays well. The Giants are a lifetime .322 against Dodgers starter Ross Stripling. He rarely goes any more than six innings, and the bullpen behind Stripling has a 6.84 ERA this season. The Giants' relievers have a 1.50 ERA and while Derek Holland didn't last long in his opener (four innings, three runs), he'll face an L.A. team that's batting .220 vs. LHPs. San Fran will have a key advantage if he departs with a lead. Hope for an early run or two, and find value in the Giants at this price.

MICAH ROBERTS

OVER 7
ARIZONA @ SAN DIEGO | 4/03 | 1:40 PM MDT
Joey Luchessi looked very good against the Giants on Friday, but so far every pitcher has looked good against weak-hitting San Francisco. This will be a big test for him because the D'Backs are mashing the ball right now with at least five runs scored in every game. They've gone Over the total in all six games so far. Over is the play.

HOUSTON @ TEXAS | 4/03 | 6:05 PM MDT
Wind can affect totals in any outdoor baseball stadium, but it affects some stadiums more than others. Globe Life Park in Arlington is one of them. The current forecast calls for 16 mph winds blowing in from center. That's going to help the pitchers, as will tonight's home plate umpire, Ron Kulpa, who tends to have a pitcher-friendly strike zone.
