MLB | Reds vs Pirates
Play on: Reds -110 at Bovada

Free Pick on Reds -

I'm recommending a play on the Reds here at basically a pick'em on the road against the Pirates. It's been an impressive start to the season for Pittsburgh, which leads the NL Central in the early going with a 5-1 record. I'm not buying into it at all and think this is an ideal spot to fade the Pirates at home.

Pittsburgh will send out Trevor Williams who didn't allow a hit in 6 shutout innings of his first start. That looks great on paper, but he was playing with fire, as he walked 5 and only struck out 1. Look for some regression here for Williams in start number two. Note the Pirates are a mere 1-8 in Williams' last 9 starts after he posted a Quality Start in his previous start.

On the flip side of this, I'm expecting a big bounce back effort from Reds' starter Luis Castillo, who had much better stuff than the numbers would suggest in his first start. Keep in mind Castillo was sensational in his 15 starts in 2017, posting a 3.12 ERA and 1.07 WHIP in 15 starts. Two of those outings came against the Pirates and he allowed just 3 runs on 6 hits with 14 strikeouts in 11 innings of work. Look for another strong outing here. Take Cincinnati!

NBA | Pelicans vs Suns
Play on: Pelicans -10½ -113 at pinnacle

Jack’s Free Pick Friday: New Orleans Pelicans -10.5

The New Orleans Pelicans are still trying to secure a playoff spot in the Western Conference. They are currently just 0.5 games ahead of the 9th place Nuggets. They are in must-win mode right now.

After losing four straight, the Pelicans responded well with a 123-95 beat down of Memphis. Now they face the one team that is worse than Memphis in the Phoenix Suns tonight.

The Suns are simply trying to wrap up the worst record in the NBA and get the best chance of earning the No. 1 pick in next year’s draft. They are 1-15 in their last 16 games overall. They are resting all of their best players in Devin Booker, Elfrid Payton, TJ Warren and Tyson Chandler.

The Pelicans are 11-2 ATS as road favorites this season. New Orleans is 10-1 ATS in road games after scoring 120 points or more this year. The Suns are 0-8 ATS in Friday night home games this season. The Pelicans are 12-1 ATS in their last 13 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of less than .400. Bet the Pelicans Friday.

NBA | Cavs vs 76ers
Play on: 76ers -3½ -107 at 5Dimes

1 Unit FREE PLAY on Philadelphia 76ers -3.5

The Philadelphia 76ers can get the inside track on the 3rd seed in the East with another win Friday against the Cavaliers. They would love to snatch that seed to get the injured Celtics in the first round. And boy have the 76ers been winning. They have gone 12-0 SU & 10-2 ATS in their last 12 games overall. And while they had yesterday off, the Cavs needed a big comeback victory to beat the Wizards 119-115 last night. So now the Cavs will be playing the second of a back-to-back and won’t have much left in the tank for Philadelphia tonight. Give me the 76ers.

NBA | Pacers vs Raptors
Play on: Pacers +7½ -105 at 5Dimes

Indiana continues to play well down the stretch winning six of its last seven. The Pacers are in full throttle mode being two games behind Cleveland for the No. 3 playoff spot in the East. Victor Oladipo is a legitimate All-Star and Bojan Bogdanovic and Myles Turner are two of the more underrated players in the conference. The Pacers' latest win was a 126-106 home victory against Golden State. That came last night and because of a perceived fatigue factor of playing on back-to-back days the line is higher than it should be. The Pacers, though, were on cruise control Thursday. Only two players logged more than 30 minutes. Toronto is in an entirely different situation. The Raptors are going to be the No. 1 seed in the East. All that takes to make it official is one victory in their last four games, or one loss by the undermanned Celtics during their last four games. The Raptors haven't been playing that well. They are in a fat and happy mood after just burying the Celtics in a showdown matchup two nights ago, winning 96-78. Until that victory, the Raptors had failed to cover in nine straight games. Only twice during their last 10 games have the Raptors beaten an opponent by more than four points during regulation.
