L.A. ANGELS @ L.A. DODGERS | 06/14 | 10:10 PM EDT
L.A. DODGERS -1.5
ANALYSIS: My model says the Dodgers cover the spread in well over 50 percent of the simulations, so you're getting good value with them at this number. The Dodgers are looking to snap their third three-game slide in just over two weeks and are facing the right opponent in the Angels, who have lost 16 of 18. Dodgers RHP Tony Gonsolin has been superb this year, going 7-0 with a 1.58 ERA while allowing two earned runs or fewer in each of his 11 starts. Take the Dodgers -1.5 runs at +100.

MIAMI @ PHILADELPHIA | 06/14 | 7:05 PM EDT
PHILADELPHIA -150
ANALYSIS: The Phillies are 9-1 under interim manager Rob Thomson, and I like them to stay hot versus Trevor Rogers and the Marlins. Rogers (5.58 ERA this season) was shelled by the Phils in Miami on April 16, and a few Phillies batters have strong histories against him, notably Rhys Hoskins (5 for 11, 2 HR). Hoskins, of course, was the hero in Monday's 3-2 walkoff win. Rogers was outstanding last season, but this year his strikeout rate is down (19.6 percent compared to 28.5 percent) and his barrel rate is up (8.9 percent compared to 5 percent). Zach Eflin also has a shaky history versus the Marlins, but I'll back the hot team at home.

OVER 6
ANALYSIS: There have been at least six goals scored in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final in every season since 2017, except the quirky 2020 season (five goals). Also, the Over is 17-6 in all Colorado games when the total is exactly six, while the Over is 19-15 when TB plays with that same total. Finally, the Over is 12-6 combined when these two teams play with three or more days of rest. I like the Over in Game 1!

TAMPA BAY @ N.Y. YANKEES | 06/14 | 7:05 PM EDT
TAMPA BAY 190
ANALYSIS: It’s usually a bad idea to bet against Gerrit Cole, who the Yankees have gone 9-3 behind and who has won his last two. But the last game was a head-scratcher as Cole gave up five home runs, eight hits and seven runs to the Twins while being chased in the third inning. The Yankees' last loss behind Cole was to Rays pitcher Corey Kluber, 3-1, in Tampa. Cole has a 1-6 career record in 12 starts against the Rays. Kluber is looking vintage sharp. Take the Rays to win.

CHI. WHITE SOX @ DETROIT | 06/14 | 7:10 PM EDT
DETROIT 165
ANALYSIS: Dylan Cease has absolutely dominated the Tigers in his career, but he shouldn’t have as much success on the road. He has also struggled in three of his last four starts. Drew Hutchinson will be starting a mostly bullpen game for the Tigers, who have one of the best bullpens in the league. The White Sox lost Jake Burger last night and Yasmani Grandal recently, and Eloy Jimenez has yet to return. Liam Hendriks is also day to day with an injury, although he could be back tonight, but Kendall Graveman has pitched three of the last four nights and should be unavailable. The White Sox have lost four of their last six games and the Tigers are much better at home at 15-18. I am really not sure why the White Sox are such heavy favorites here, take the value in the Tigers.

MINNESOTA @ SEATTLE | 06/14 | 10:10 PM EDT
SEATTLE -125
ANALYSIS: Joe Ryan returns from the IL for the Twins to make his first start since May 21st. He most likely won’t make it too deep and that is a problem for a Twins bullpen that pitched plenty last night. Logan Gilbert has been dominant this season, including a start against the Twins where he only allowed one run in 5 IP. Jorge Polanco is day to day with an injury and could be out again, I like the Mariners at home.

MILWAUKEE @ N.Y. METS | 06/14 | 7:10 PM EDT
N.Y. METS -160
ANALYSIS: Neither of these teams are playing well right now, but the Mets were just on a long west coast road trip. The Brewers have just lost eight of their last 10 games and they are now second in the division. The Mets are 19-8 at home this season and they are one of the best teams in the league in opening series games. The Mets are also 23-14 against teams with winning records while the Brewers are just 12-16. Chris Bassitt has been struggling but he should be much more comfortable at home where he is much better. Adrian Houser is a much different pitcher on the road at 1-3 with a 5.32 ERA, I like the Mets at home.

HOUSTON @ TEXAS | 06/14 | 8:05 PM EDT
HOUSTON -125
ANALYSIS: The Rangers have been hitting the ball well the last few days and have won three in a row, but I’m betting that starter Dane Dunning isn’t the guy to get the fourth straight victory. Texas has lost four straight behind him and the Astros start Jose Urquidy, who has had three carbon-copy career starts against the Rangers. He allowed one run and recorded seven or more strikeouts in each outing while issuing a total of one walk as the Astros won all three, most recently on May 22. Take the Astros to win.

ATLANTA @ WASHINGTON | 06/14 | 7:05 PM EDT
ATLANTA -1.5
ANALYSIS: My only concern here is this one seems too easy. We'll grab better odds with the -1.5 run line at -150, but everything here points to a relatively easy win for the Braves. Stephen Strasburg was scheduled, but he's hurt so it'll be Jackson Tetreault making his MLB debut against a lineup that is torching everyone. Juan Soto is banged up and could be out of the Nationals' lineup. Max Fried gets the ball for the Braves and he has a 2.21 ERA since a bad opening day start while neither A.J. Minter and Kenley Jansen were used on Monday. It's hard to see this being close.

MIAMI @ PHILADELPHIA | 06/14 | 7:05 PM EDT
PHILADELPHIA -145
ANALYSIS: The winning streak was broken Sunday, but the Phillies won again on Monday to maintain their strong pace in June under Rob Thomson. The pitching matchup is in their favor in this one. The Marlins send Trevor Rogers and while he's had some good outings this season, he's mostly been sub-par. He's allowed at least five runs four times in 11 starts compared to just one statistical quality start. He's also left-handed and the Phillies crush lefties (seventh in MLB in wRC+ vs. LHP). As a bonus, the Marlins bullpen has been brutal this month (6.27 ERA).

The Reds are the worst team in the National League, but both teams are struggling. Cincinnati has won two straight on the road and has a little momentum. Arizona does not hit the ball well at home or against right-handed pitchers. The Reds bullpen looked sharp the other night, and I expect another win from Cincinnati tonight. Take the Reds.

HOUSTON @ TEXAS | 06/14 | 8:05 PM EDT
HOUSTON -125
ANALYSIS: Throughout Jose Urquidy’s career he has dominated the Rangers. In five starts against Texas he has 37 strikeouts and has allowed just six total runs. On May 22, he had his best outing of the season with 10 strikeouts against the Rangers. Take the Astros to bounce back after losing yesterday’s series opener.

PITTSBURGH @ ST. LOUIS | 06/14 | 7:45 PM EDT
PITTSBURGH 190
ANALYSIS: In the second game of a doubleheader between the Pirates and Cardinals, I’ll take a shot with the big underdog Pirates. St. Louis lost both starts Miles Mikolas made last season against Pittsburgh. Additionally, in his first start this season Mikolas lasted just 3.2 innings against the Pirates, throwing a career-high 41 pitches in the first. Pittsburgh should get opportunities in the second game of a doubleheader.

ATLANTA @ WASHINGTON | 06/14 | 7:05 PM EDT
ATLANTA -1.5
ANALYSIS: The Braves have won 12 straight, and they have the luxury of replacing Ozzie Albies with Orlando Arcia (..313 batting average, .851 OPS). They've belted 27 homers during the hot streak. The good times should continue tonight as they face a pitcher, Jackson Tetreault, making his MLB debut. Look for Max Fried (6-2, 2.64 ERA) to dominate a depleted Nats lineup and play Atlanta -1.5 runs at -149.

L.A. ANGELS @ L.A. DODGERS | 06/14 | 10:10 PM EDT
L.A. DODGERS -1.5
ANALYSIS: Noah Syndergaard has been inconsistent, while Tony Gonsolin has been a machine. The Dodgers' starter is 7-0 with a 1.58 ERA and 0.86 WHIP. The Dodgers have lost three straight and six of eight, but they got a day off Monday and should be focused and refreshed for the battle of LA. The Angels have lost seven straight as road underdogs. Play the Dodgers on the run line at +115.
