MLB | Padres vs Mets
Play on: Mets -105 at betonline

Play - NY Mets w/Oswalt vs Richard (Game 952).

Edges - Mets: Oswalt 3.29 ERA home as opposed to 10.79 ERA day … Padres: Richard 5.75 ERA away and 5.77 ERA last seven starts. With Richard 0-4 in his career team starts in this park and 1-7 his last 8 team starts during July, we recommend a 1* play on the Mets. Thank you and good luck as always.

MLB | Tigers vs Royals
Play on: Tigers +105 at BMaker

It's no secret both teams have struggled this season. However, Matt Boyd has been the more consistent pitcher this season. The Royals struggle in day games, with a 14-27 record. Look for the Tigers to pick up the road win here.

Pick Rating: ***

MLB | WAS vs MIL
Play on: OVER 9 -101

Scott "The Bulldog" Rickenbach MLB Game #957 Wednesday Free Pick OVER the total in Milwaukee Brewers vs Washington Nationals @ 2:10 ET - The Brewers Freddy Peralta has great numbers on the season but he has not been as sharp of late. The Milwaukee right-hander has walked 9 batters in the 14 and 2/3 innings spanning his last 3 starts and the over is a perfect 3-0 in those outings. He'll be opposed by a hurler whom is struggling even more than he is. Tanner Roark gets the call for the Nationals here. The Washington right-hander is 0-3 with a 9.56 ERA in his last 3 starts. Miraculously, despite his struggles, Roark's most recent start stayed under the total but he entered that start with the over having gone 4-1 in his 5 prior outings. Each of the first two games in this series stayed under the total but the over was 7-3 in the Brewers 10 games prior to this series. Also, Washington entered this series having averaged scoring 5.3 runs per game in their 4 prior contests with the over having gone 3-1 in those 4 games. Based on the pitching match-up in this one, and with yesterday's game just missing going over the total, I see a lot of value in this one in terms of expecting double digits for runs here! Free Pick OVER the total in Milwaukee

MLB | Twins vs Blue Jays
Play on: Blue Jays -108 at 5Dimes

My free play is on the Tor Blue Jays at 7:05 ET. The 46-53 Minnesota Twins (46-53) hope to cap a three-game sweep of the Toronto Blue Jays (46-54) at Rogers Centre on Wednesday, after 8-3 (Mon) and 5-3 (Tue) wins the last two days. Minnesota has answered a three-game slide with back-to-back victories, as Eduardo Escobar belted a three-run HR in Tuesday's 5-0 romp to improve to 4-for-7 with three extra-base hits and five RBI in the series. Meanwhile Toronto has managed just three runs in consecutive losses, after erupting for 17 in a three-game sweep of sad-sack Baltimore.

Ervin Santana went 16-8 with a 3.28 ERA for the Twins in 2017, after winning winning just seven games in both 2015 and 2016 for Minnesota. The 35-year-old vet returns from a lengthy absence due to surgery to remove calcium deposits from his right middle finger in February. He will be activated off the disabled list to make his season 2018 debut and make his 20th career start against Toronto (he is 6-7 with a 3.84 ERA in his career against the Blue Jays). Santana is expected to give Minnesota a jolt after allowing one run over six innings in a rehab start on Friday, dropping his ERA to 3.72 in seven starts at three levels in the minors.

Toronto's Sam Gaviglio (2-3, 4.59 ERA) will oppose Santana. He saw his winless skid reach 10 outings on Friday, after allowing four runs on seven hits over a career-high 7 2/3 innings in a no-decision against the Orioles. Gaviglio served up two HRs vs Baltimore and has now allowed 12 'big flys' in his last 11 outings. In two career starts against the Twins, both coming season, he is 1-0 with a 4.35 ERA (team went 1-1).

This marks the final meeting of the season between the teams (the Twins lead 3-2) and while Gaviglio will be looking for his first win since May 25 (he is 0-3 with a 5.33 ERA in 10 starts since / team is 5-5), I will favor the Jays in this one. Santana is returning after having a calcium deposit removed from his right middle finger on Feb 6 and his velocity might be a concern. His fastball was usually timed at 89-90 mph during his seven rehabilitation appearances. "It was a lot of ups and downs, but the good thing is I kept my mind positive," Santana said. "It's crazy. But at the same time, it was a surgery. You can't predict when you're coming back because you didn't know how the finger was going to react and all that." No sweep here. Take Toronto.

y Wednesday comp play is the Over in the Dodgers-Phillies finale.

Yesterday, these teams played a very long 16 innings of baseball before it was decided, as the Phils gutted out a 7-4 win that landed Over the total.

That Over puts the first pair of this concluding 3 game series Over the total, and also puts the season series Over mark at 4-1-1 the 6 times these teams have faced one another this year.

With Walker Buehler sporting an over 4 ERA for his last 3 starts, and the Over banking in 2 of those 3 assignments, and Jake Arrieta fresh off 5 runs - 4 of them earned - allowed in his last start against the Padres at home, I have a feeling we may be seeing some runs this afternoon to conclude this set.

Throw in both bullpens having been used up in last night's marathon, and now having to come back to play this day game after a long night affair, expect there to be enough offense to land this one Over the total.

3* L.A. DODGERS-PHILADELPHIA OVER

Your Wednesday freebie is the Under in Chicago-Los Angeles.

The first two in this long four game set have both held Under the total, as the White Sox have now played 6 of their last 9 games Under the posted price, while the Angels have been Under in 11 of their last 15 games overall.

It will be James Shields and Tyler Skaggs in charge of keeping the runs off the board, and while Shields does possess an ERA of 4.26, the Under is a money-making 13-7-1 in his 21 starts this season.

As for Skaggs, his ERA of 2.68 keeps him hovering near the league leaders, and the Under has gone 3-1 his last 4 starts, and is on an overall 5-2 clip his last 7 trips to the mound.

Yes, there will be some runs, but I don't see enough to take this late-night affair from Anaheim Over the total.

Under in the Pale Hose-Halos game.

3* WHITE SOX-L.A. ANGELS UNDER

1* Free Pick on Padres +111

I like the value here with the Padres as a short road underdog against the Mets in Wednesday's early MLB action. Lefty Clayton Richard will start for San Diego and while he was hit hard in his last start at Philadelphia, he's been pretty solid for the most part this season.

It was only the 4th start this season in which he allowed more than 4 runs and he's allowed 3 or fewer runs in 7 of his last 10 outings. He was sharp in his lone start against New York this season, giving up just 3 runs in 6 2/3 innings. Note that the Mets are just 3-13 in their last 16 home games vs a left-handed starter.

New York won yesterday's matchup 6-3 and that's worth noting, as the Mets are a mere 16-42 in their last 58 games after scoring 5 or more runs. They are also just 7-23 in their last 30 tries after a win and still a mere 5-15 in their last 20 vs a team with a losing record. Take San Diego!

Jack’s Free Pick Wednesday: Houston Astros -118

The Houston Astros are showing great value as small road favorites over the Colorado Rockies tonight. They should be bigger favorites based on the fact that they have a huge advantage on the mound in this one.

Charlie Morton has found his groove in Houston. He is 11-2 with a 2.96 ERA and 1.148 WHIP in 19 starts this season with 146 K’s in 112 1/3 innings. The Astros have done an amazing job of developing their starters as I’d put their rotation up against any in baseball.

Jon Gray is 8-7 with a 5.35 ERA and 1.440 WHIP in 18 starts for the Rockies this year. I’m surprised he is getting as much respect from oddsmakers as he is given those poor numbers in a large sample size this year.

Colorado is 1-12 in its last 13 home games vs. AL teams that allow 3.9 or fewer runs per game. Houston is 34-13 as a road favorite of -110 or higher this season, winning by 2.8 runs per game in this spot. The Astros are 7-0 in the last seven meetings. Bet the Astros Wednesday.

On Hump Day, Play Against AL home underdogs with a money line of +125 or more like BALTIMORE hitting .265 or less, against a team with a bullpen ERA of 3.75 or lower, with a starting pitcher whose ERA is 7.50 or higher over his last three starts. In the last five years, teams like the Orioles are 10-49.

1 Unit FREE PLAY on Seattle Mariners -135

The Seattle Mariners should get back in the win column after a tough loss to the Giants yesterday. I like what I’ve seen from Seattle starter Mike Leake this season. He is 8-6 with a 4.22 ERA in 20 starts. Leake has allowed 2 runs or fewer in six of his last nine starts against the Giants. Derek Holland has allowed 4 earned runs or more in five of his last eight starts against the Mariners. He is 3-4 with a 5.44 ERA in those eight starts while allowing 29 earned runs in 48 innings. Holland is 3-5 with a 4.18 ERA and 1.49 WHIP in 10 road starts this year. The Giants are 42-89 in their last 131 road games vs. a team with a winning record. The Mariners are 24-9 in their last 33 home games. Give me the Mariners.

MLB | Dodgers vs Phillies
Play on: Dodgers -133 at BetPhoenix

10* FREE MLB PICK (Dodgers -133)

I'll take my chances here with the Dodgers securing a win on the road against the Phillies. A lot of people are going to consider taking the Phillies at this price with Jake Arrieta on the mound, but I feel the value is with LA. The Dodgers are absolutely crushing the baseball right now. LA is averaging 5.6 runs and hitting .282 as a team over their last 7 games. With 11 hits on Tuesday, they have now reached double-digit hits in 7 straight games. Arrieta is a big name, but he's got a mere 5.06 ERA and 1.417 WHIP in his last 9 starts. Dodgers will send out Walker Buehler, who is 4-1 with a 2.72 ERA and 0.994 WHIP in 10 starts. Give me Los Angeles -133!

#MLB FREE PICK FROM MIKE LUNDIN

I think we're getting good value on the NY Mets when they host the San Diego Padres Wednesday afternoon.

Mets rookie righty Corey Oswalt (0-2, 5.64 ERA) owns a respectable 3.27 ERA in two starts at Citi Field and held the Nats to one run through five frames his last time out.

Padres veteran southpaw Clayton Richard (7-9, 4.82 ERA) is 2-5 with a 4.37 ERA in nine career starts against the Mets. He is a winless 0-3 through his last five turns (Padres 1-4 in those games) and was lit up for seven runs through just three innings of an 11-5 loss at Pittsburgh last time out.

The Mets have split their last five games while the Friars have lost eight of their last 10.

Free pick on New York Mets.

CFL | Toronto vs Winnipeg
Play on: Winnipeg -11 -105 at YouWager

This is a 1* Free Play on the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

Winnipeg smashed Toronto 38-20 last weekend and we think an even bigger blowout is in the cards this week. After suffering a horrible second half collapse in BC the week before, Matt Nichols and the Blue Bombers were firing on all cylinders against the defending champs last week. Argos’ backup QB James Franklin struggled for the most part against Winnipeg’s aggressive defensive attack and clearly it’s not going to get any easier tonight in this hostile environment. There are no easy answers for Toronto, which has dealt with chemistry issues from the “get go” this season. Note that the BOMBERS are 7-2 ATS in their last nine after scoring 36 or more points in their previous outing. Consider the home side in this one.
