MLB | Astros vs Tigers
Play on: Tigers +127 at 5dimes

Play - Detroit Tigers w/Boyd (Game 908).

Edges - Tigers: Boys 5-0 home team-starts during May, and 24 Ks with 2 BBs last three starts … Astros: visiting team in Houston games against Boyd is 0-3 all-time … With that, we recommend a 1* play on Detroit. Thank you and good luck as always.

Free Pick Monday NHL

St. Louis vs. San Jose, 05/13/2019 21:00 EDT

Total: -105/+5½ Over

Sportsbook:
BetOnline

Scott "The Bulldog" Rickenbach NHL Rotation #7 Monday Free Pick OVER the total in San Jose Sharks vs St Louis Blues @ 9:05 ET - The Sharks rolled the Blues 6 to 3 in Game 1 of this series. San Jose is averaging 4 goals per game in their last 13 games on home ice. Given those numbers, it is not surprising to hear that the Sharks are 11-2 to the over in their last 13 games on home ice. Of course San Jose now has a 1-0 lead in this series and note that the over is 3-1 when the Sharks are leading in a playoff series. As for the Blues only 3 of their last dozen road games have resulted in an under. Overall, St Louis has been a fantastic team when skating away from home in this post-season. The Blues have tallied 20 goals in their last 6 road games. St Louis needs to respond here in Game 2 and certainly should but the Sharks are likely to match them goal for goal given the way they've been playing on home ice. It would not be a surprise to see this game a 3-3 tie at some point given the above and this total is posted at a manageable 5.5 goals. Free Pick OVER the total in San Jose

Milwaukee played the night game last night in a 4-1 loss at Chicago against the Cubs, and I suspect their bats will be a little tired tonight as they open on the road for a new series in Philadelphia. That is why I will side with the Under as my Monday comp play release on the diamond.

The Brewers played all 3 this past weekend at Wrigley Under the total, as the Under is 7-2 their last 9 games played!

Meanwhile, the Phillies wrapped up their interleague series in Kansas City against the Royals with just one run allowed over their last 18 innings pitched. All 3 in K.C. held Under, as Philadelphia returns home with Unders played in 4 straight, and 7 of their last 9 games overall.

Freddy Peralta is coming out of the bullpen for his first start since May 2nd, as he has had some rough turns thus far this season, as evidenced by his 6.75 ERA. Perhaps the 5 scoreless relief innings he worked on May 7th will give him the boost he needs to work another 5 or 6 tonight with limited damage done.

Aaron Nola is in a groove right now with 3 straight starts with no more than 1 run allowed. Nola is 3-0 with a 2.37 ERA in his 5 career starts against the Brewers too.
With both clubs trending low of late, and both teams having to travel to get back to tonight's game location, going to look for the pitching to dominate the hitting on Monday

Brewers-Phillies Under the total.

2* MILWAUKEE-PHILADELPHIA UNDER

Comp play for Monday is the Over in the Houston-Detroit series opener from the Motor City.

The Astros are "denting the dish" with regularity right now, as they fresh off a home 4 game series sweep of the Rangers that saw them plate 33 runs - 26 of them coming over the last 2 games. They have won 8 of their last 9 games, as the Houston offense has blasted off big-time. A.J. Hinch's team is averaging an even 9 runs per game in those 8 wins, and while they may not get to that many runs tonight against Matthew Boyd, I don't see them being far off that pace.

Boyd has been a bright spot in the Detroit rotation, going 4-2 with a 2.86 ERA, and he is 2-0 for his career against Houston, but do note that his career ERA against the 'Stros is over 5.

Brad Peacock did dominate Kansas City at home in his last start, as he threw 7 scoreless innings with a whopping 12 strikeouts, but on the road this season it has been a different story for Peacock, as his road ERA stands at 5.52. The Over is 4-2-1 the last 7 starts that Peacock has made, and I think based on the way the Houston offense has been rolling we will see another Over in tonight's road start by Peacock.

Astros and Tigers to make their way Over the total for Monday night.

5* HOUSTON-DETROIT OVER

Tony Weston

COMPLIMENTARY WINNER

My free play for Monday is on the UNDER in the American League mashup between the Houston Astros and Detroit Tigers.

IMPORTANT: As you know every single Run Line play and Total wager will automatically list the scheduled starting pitchers at the time of the wager, and I want you to be sure the following pitchers are the registered starters on your ticket when making your wager: Brad Peacock and Matthew Boyd. If one or both of these pitchers is not going, this is a no-play.

It's all about the pitching, as both of those guys will be at their best tonight. Peacock will be pitching well enough to keep the Astros on top of the American League West, as they arrive in Motown on an 8-2 run after winning five straight. The Tigers sit in third place in the A.L. Central, and could be on the verge of a hot streak that might propel them past the Cleveland Indians into second.

This series will define a lot for both teams.

Peacock steps to the mound after the best start of his career, last Wednesday, when he struck out 12 batters in seven scoreless innings against Kansas City. This is not surprising, although it was a career high, as he's always been a strikeout machine. His heat map has been phenomenal of late, and I expect him to frustrate the Tigers.

Boyd will answer the challenge tonight, as he gets the nod to start the three-game home set against Houston. He's been Detroit's most reliable starter thus far this season. The crafty left-hander has won his last two starts and hasn't allowed more than three earned runs in any of his eight outings. The challenge in facing a team like Houston will have him ramped up.

Play this one low.

4* UNDER Astros-Tigers
