Lakers Take on Spurs

The Los Angeles Lakers and San Antonio Spurs haven't needed a first-place finish in the Western Conference to win NBA titles in the past, but that certainly doesn't mean they won't be making a strong push for the No. 1 seed.

After securing the Pacific Division title, the Lakers host the Spurs on Sunday in a matchup of teams still in contention for West supremacy.

Rebuilding Time

The last five days of the regular season will likely feature a good amount of jockeying for playoff position in the Western Conference standings. The Memphis Grizzlies and the Minnesota Timberwolves, however, will be fighting for draft position.

The Grizzlies and Timberwolves meet in Memphis on Saturday in a matchup between rebuilding teams heading back to the lottery.

Playoffs in Jeopardy

One injured MVP, two teams on their heels and three straight losses put the Dallas Mavericks' playoff chances briefly in jeopardy.

Dirk Nowitzki wasn't about to let that possibility become a reality.

With a playoff berth locked in, Nowitzki and the Mavericks will look to win their fourth straight while trying to improve their seeding on Saturday at the Rose Garden against the Portland Trail Blazers.

No Time For Rest

Rallying for a win over the team they're battling for the last Western Conference playoff spot has given the Denver Nuggets some breathing room. It won't give them a chance to rest for very long.

The Nuggets will try to strengthen their hold on a playoff berth as they play their final road game of the season on Friday night when they face the Northwest Division champion Utah Jazz.
