Utah Jazz at Sacramento Kings

Sacramento awful all season (17-33, 19-29-2 ATS) and currently ridding a four-game skid (1-3 ATS), 8-of-9 slide (2-7 ATS) it's hard making a case for Kings when they host Utah Jazz on Saturday. But, Jazz have been terrible on the road with just nine wins in twenty six tries along with a cash draining 9-16-1 mark at the betting window. Jazz obviously the better team should take care of business on the road but cashing a ticket could prove difficult. Jazz are 3-6 ATS without rest including 2-5 ATS on the road. Jazz are also on a 1-8 ATS slide running the hardwood with Kings, 0-4 ATS last four attempting back-2-back wins over Sacramento.

Nuggets at Cavaliers: What Bettors Need to Know
Covers.com

Denver Nuggets at Cleveland Cavaliers (+5.5, 215)

The Denver Nuggets put their season-long eight-game winning streak (7-1 ATS) on the line when they travel to Cleveland to face the resurgent Cavaliers on Saturday. It's the start of a four-game Eastern Conference road trip for the Nuggets, who have won 14 of 16 (10-6 ATS) to move into the No. 4 spot in the Western Conference. Cleveland also has been hot, matching a season-high three-game win streak (3-0 ATS) and claiming six of its last eight (6-2 ATS).

Cleveland kept up its improved offensive play with a 119-108 home win over Orlando on Friday and has averaged 108.3 points in its past seven home contests. Denver finished a sweep of a six-game homestand with a 128-96 win over Chicago on Thursday, but the Nuggets are just 10-15 on the road. The Nuggets have won five of the past six meetings, including a 98-91 win Jan. 11 in Denver, and are trying to sweep the season series from the Cavs for the fifth time in the last seven seasons.

ABOUT THE NUGGETS (32-18, 30-20-0 ATS): Denver displays impressive depth with six players averaging double-digit scoring and another on the cusp at 9.7 points per game. Small forward Danilo Gallinari (17.1 points, 5.3 rebounds) leads the way, but point guard Ty Lawson (15.2 points, 7 assists) and Andre Iguodala (13.5 points, 5.4 rebounds, 4.6 assists) are capable of big nights. Gallinari has scored 20 or more points in eight of the past 16 games, averaging 19.8 points over that stretch. The Nuggets do not excel at the defensive end — even during their eight-game win streak they have allowed more than 100 points four times.

ABOUT THE CAVALIERS (16-34, 24-25-1 ATS): Cleveland's turnaround has been the result of improved offensive play, and particularly taking care of the ball. The Cavaliers have averaged 11.3 turnovers over their past 11 games, well below their season average of 14.3, and they have had only six giveaways in each of the past two games. Point guard Kyrie Irving (23.9 points, 5.4 assists) has led the charge along with newly-acquired forward Marreese Speights, who has averaged 15.1 points and seven rebounds in seven games since coming over from Memphis. Irving has averaged 33 points over the Cavs' last nine victories.

TRENDS:

* Nuggets are 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings in Cleveland.
* Underdog is 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings.
* Road team is 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings.

BUZZER BEATERS:

1. Denver has not won nine straight since a 10-game streak from March 30-April 15, 2005.

2. The Nuggets are 20-3 when allowing fewer than 100 points and 8-2 when holding opponents under 90.

3. Cleveland has had at least two players score in double figures off the bench in seven consecutive games.

Today’s NBA schedule fails to deliver a matchup that features two teams above .500. However, there are still four playoff-caliber teams in action tonight.

One of these playoff-bound teams is the Denver Nuggets (32-18). They travel to Cleveland as 5.5-point road favorites to take on a Cavaliers squad that is 16-34 overall, but 7-3 in its last ten behind a surging Kyrie Irving. It should be fun to watch Irving go toe-to-toe with Ty Lawson.

While the Utah Jazz (28-23) and Nuggets have been playing good ball out west, the Golden State Warriors (30-20) have struggled a bit, dropping three in a row and five of their last 10. The Jazz will head to California to face-off against the Sacramento Kings (17-33) in what would seem like an easy win on paper. The Jazz are a 1.5-point road dog.

The Warriors are also road dogs – getting six points – against the Dallas Mavericks (21-28).

NBA Trends:

* The Nuggets have covered their last four games and seven of their last eight. The Cavs have covered six of their last seven home games. The Nuggets have gone OVER the total in 13 of their last 16 games. The Cavs have gone OVER in their last five games. The Nuggets are 5.5-point road favorites with a total of 216.

* The Bobcats have only one cover in their last seven games following a loss. The Sixers have covered six of their last eight road games. The Bobcats have stayed UNDER the total in five of their last six games. The Sixers have stayed UNDER in their last four home games. The Sixers are -8.5 with a total of 187.5.

* The Pistons have covered only once in their last six games against teams with a winning record. The Bucks have not covered in their last five games. The Bucks have gone OVER the total in their last four home games. The road team has covered the last four meetings between the Bucks and Pistons. The Bucks are -7 with a total of 202.

* The Warriors have covered only two of their last seven road games and six of their last seven in Dallas. The Mavericks have covered six of their last seven home games. The Warriors have gone OVER the total in their last five games following a loss. The Mavericks have gone OVER the total in seven of their last nine games. The Mavericks are -6 with a total of 210.5.

* The Jazz have failed to cover their last five games against teams with a losing record. The Kings have failed to cover their last seven home games. The Jazz have stayed UNDER the total in four of their last five games. The Kings have stayed UNDER in their last five. The underdog has covered the last five meetings between the Jazz and Kings. The Kings are -1.5 with a total of 197.

NBA Injuries:

* Warriors guard Jarrett Jack (hip) is questionable.

* Warriors forward Andrew Bogut (rest) is OUT.

* Pistons forward Andre Drummond (knee) is OUT.

* Jazz forward Gordon Hayward (shoulder) is OUT.
