NBA Point Spreads and Trends
By: The Linemakers
Sportingnews.com

There are eight NBA games on the Monday night slate, the most anticipated being the Knicks vs. Nets at Barclays Center Brooklyn, which was rescheduled from the opening week of the season because of Hurricane Sandy. Here’s a look at some lines and trends for all of tonight’s games.

Odds are from the LVH SuperBook as of 9:30 a.m. PT.

NBA trends

* The Spurs are 9-1-2 ATS in their past 12 games against teams with a winning percentage lower than .400. They have also covered five of their past six road games. The Spurs have covered their past five meetings in Washington. The Spurs are -5.5, with a total of 191, tonight vs. the Wizards.

* The Knicks have covered their past six games against Eastern Conference teams and nine of the past 11 when playing on the back end of back-to-back nights. The Knicks have also gone 7-1-1 ATS playing on the Nets home court. However, this will be the Knicks first game playing in Brooklyn. Tonight’s game is a pick ‘em, and the total is 193.

* The Pistons have covered eight of their past 11 when allowing 100 points or more in their previous game. The Blazers have not covered the spread in their last six Monday night games, but they have covered seven of their past eight in Detroit. Tonight’s game is a pick, with a total of 192.

* The Bulls have covered their last four games against Central Division teams, including Saturday night at Milwaukee. The Bucks and Bulls have gone OVER the total in five of their past six meetings. The Bulls are -4.5 at home vs. the Bucks, with the total posted at 191.5.

* The Cavaliers have covered their past four meetings with the Grizzlies and have gone OVER the total in their past seven games in Memphis. The Cavs have also gone OVER in their last six Monday night games. The Grizzlies are -12.5, with a total of 194.

* The Thunder have gone OVER the total in their last six games, and the Bobcats are on a run of four straight OVERs themselves. But the UNDER has occurred in five of the past seven times Charlotte has been in OKC. The Thunder are 5-1-1 in their last seven against teams with a winning record. Hard to believe, but yes, the Bobcats are 7-5. The Thunder are -11.5 with a total of 200.5.

* The Nuggets have covered in all eight of their wins this season and are currently on a four-game win streak. The Jazz have covered five of their past six home games. The Nuggets won by 20 at Denver on Nov. 9. The Jazz are -3, and the total is 200 tonight.

* The Hornets have covered eight of their past nine games coming off a loss of 10-points or more. The Clippers lost the last three games of their just-completed four-game road trip, but covered their previous four home games. The home team has covered five of the past six meetings between the Hornets and Clippers, with the OVER hitting in five of those games. The Clippers are -12.5 with a total of 189.5.

NBA injuries:

* Forward LaMarcus Aldridge (back) is probable tonight after missing the Blazers’ last game.

* Guard Brandon Jennings (ankle) was injured in the Bucks’ last game and is probable tonight.

* Hornets center Anthony Davis (ankle) is OUT indefinitely.

NBA: Streaks, Tips, Notes
Sportspic.com

San Antonio Spurs at Washington Wizards

Washington Wizards (0-11, 5-6 ATS) try to end it's losing streak at the Verizon Center Monday when they host the San Antonio Spurs (11-3, 8-5-1 ATS). Although, Wizards catch a Spurs team in back-2-backs the talent gap is simply too large. If you pull together the fact Spurs are on a smart 12-1 (7-3-3 ATS) stretch playing without rest, Wizards on a 0-12 (11-11 ATS) skid vs the boys from Alamo City another setback looms for Wizards.

New Orleans Hornets at Los Angeles Clippers

The Los Angeles Clippers off a 104-93 loss at Atlanta ending their four game road swing 1-3 SU/ATS return to the comfort of the Staples Center looking to right the ship when the New Orleans Hornets pay a visit. Clippers aren't likely to be upset by New Orleans but could easily get stunk at the betting window. The Clippers are 7-11 ATS as a favorite after allowing 100 or more points the previous game, an ugly 0-4-1 ATS at home off a road game in which they scored =< 95 points. The Hornets lost last night in Denver and are playing the second of back-to-back road games. But, that's a positive indicator as Bugs are a profitable 6-1 ATS on the road without rest off a road game the previous night. If that were not enough to give Hornets a second look consider this kicker. Bugs are 8-2 ATS in the last 10 meetings on Clippers home hardwood, 22-6 ATS in the last 28 encounters with Clip.

Knicks at Nets: What Bettors Need to Know
By Covers.com

New York Knicks at Brooklyn Nets (+1.5)

Originally scheduled as a season-opening clash between new neighbors, the first meeting of the New York Knicks and the relocated Brooklyn Nets has blown into a matchup of the top two teams in the Atlantic Division. The long-awaited meeting was postponed Nov. 1 because of Superstorm Sandy, but it will carry even more weight on Monday. The Knicks snapped a two-game losing streak with a 121-100 home win over Detroit on Sunday to maintain their top spot in the division.

Brooklyn was sluggish for three quarters Sunday before pulling away for a 98-85 home win over Portland. The Nets have won five straight and six of their first seven games at Barclays Center - the franchise's best start at home since winning 18 of its first 19 in the 2002-03 season - and they sit just a game behind the Knicks for the best record in the division and the second-best mark in the Eastern Conference.

ABOUT THE KNICKS (9-3, 9-3 ATS): New York has four players averaging double-digit scoring led by Brooklyn native Carmelo Anthony (25.6 points, 6.6 rebounds). Point guard Raymond Felton (15.7 points, 7.3 assists), key reserve J.R. Smith (15.5 points, 5.5 rebounds) and center Tyson Chandler (10.3 points, 8.5 rebounds) also are putting up big numbers, and veterans Rasheed Wallace (8.2 points, 4.1 rebounds) and Jason Kidd (8.0 points, 3.4 assists) are giving the Knicks good minutes. New York is still without Amar'e Stoudemire, who had left knee surgery on Oct. 31 and was expected to miss 6-8 weeks.

ABOUT THE NETS (8-4, 7-3-2 ATS): Brooklyn has built its foundation around point guard Deron Williams (16.8 points, 8.5 assists) and complemented him with a nice inside-outside duo in 7-foot center Brook Lopez (19.0 points, 6.2 rebounds) and swingman Joe Johnson (15.8 points, 3.7 assists). Johnson led the team with 21 points against Portland. He and Lopez each have scored in double digits in nine straight and 11 of 12 this season. Forward Kris Humphries' numbers are down a bit this year - he's averaging 8.4 points and 8.9 rebounds - but he posted his fourth double-double of the season with 14 points and 10 rebounds Sunday.

TRENDS:

* Knicks are 7-1-1 ATS in the last nine road meetings with Nets.
* Knicks are 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings.
* Under is 10-4 in the last 14 meetings.
* Favorite is 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings.
* Road team is 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings.

BUZZER BEATERS:

1. Brooklyn is 4-0 when scoring at least 100 points. The Knicks have allowed triple digits in five of their past seven games, including three losses.

2. Anthony has led the Knicks in scoring in 11 of their 12 games, including a team-best 29 points in Sunday's win.

3. The Nets are 3-0 when holding opponents under 80 points and 7-1 when allowing 100 points or fewer. New York has topped 100 in four straight games and nine of 12 overall.
