Re: College Basketball Betting News and Notes Saturday 11/3

College Basketball Odds and Trends: Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012
By: The Linemakers

Here's a look at Saturday's college basketball games involving ranked teams. Only games for which Las Vegas sports books are offering odds are shown. The games are listed in order of the official Nevada rotation.

No. 16 Western Kentucky at Southern Mississippi - 8:30 p.m. ET

Line: Southern Miss -4.5

Trends: Western Kentucky won their last meeting in 2002, 64-54.

The Linemakers take: Donnie Tyndall takes over the coaching duties of a Southern Miss squad that returns only two starters, but they're the best two -- guard Neil Watson and forward Jonathan Mills

Evansville at No. 22 Notre Dame - 2:00 p.m. ET

Line: Notre Dame -14

Trends: Notre Dame has won all four home meetings with Evansville. However, they have failed to cover a non-conference game in their last seven attempts.

The Linemakers take: Five starters return for Notre Dame, led by Jack Cooley up front and an outstanding backcourt. They are one of the few ranked teams that has been together as a unit collectively for the past two seasons and should make some noise in their final season of Big East play. Evansville features Colt Ryan, who averaged 20.5 point per game last season.

SIU-Edwardsville at No. 15 Missouri - 5:00 p.m. ET

Line: Missouri -27.5

Trends: Missouri has won 65 home games against non-conference opponents dating back to 2005.

The Linemakers take: Missouri lost their top three scorers from last season, and we can expect some growing pains as their mix of transfers and freshmen get acclimated.

Hoop Notes:

UCLA freshman guard Shabazz Muhammad has been ruled ineligible by the NCAA because he was found to have violated NCAA amateurism rules, it was announced Friday.

It's not yet known how many games Muhammad will miss, but UCLA plans to appeal the decision.

This is a major blow for the Bruins. Muhammad, from Las Vegas, was rated the nation's No. 1 recruit for the incoming class, and his addition to the Bruins lineup was a major reason why they were ranked No. 13 in the preseason AP poll.
