KANSAS CITY, KS (TheSpread) – The 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series gets back to Sunday racing this week, with the running of the STP 400 from Kansas Speedway.

According to oddsmakers, Jimmie Johnson and Tony Stewart are the favorites to win this race, as each has 6/1 odds. Other short odds to win are Greg Biffle and Matt Kenseth, who each have 8/1 odds to win.

Johnson is eighth in the point standings, 40 behind Biffle for first place. He has three top 5’s on the season. Johnson has two victories at Kansas with four top 5’s. His average finish at this track is 8.4 and his driver rating in Kansas is 120.6, which ranks tops in the series.

Stewart is seventh in the point standings. He trails Biffle by 39 points. Stewart has two wins on the season. Stewart also has two wins at this track with five top 5’s. His average finish at Kansas is 12.2, while his driver rating is 105.9, which ranks third in the series.

Biffle leads the point standings by 19 points. He has one win and four top 5’s on the year. At Kansas, Biffle has two wins and six top 5’s in his career. His average finish at the track is 8.3 and his driver rating there is 118.0, which ranks second amongst current drivers.

Kenseth is tied for second in points. He has one win and four top 5’s on the year. Kenseth has never won on this track, but he has three top 5’s. His average finish is 18.0 and his driver rating at the track is 101.5, which ranks fifth amongst current drivers.
