Jets vs. Patriots Predictions

Jets vs. Patriots NFL Week 17 Predictions Against the Spread 12/31/17

Are the New England Patriots laying too many points to their AFC East rivals, the New York Jets, Sunday at 1:00 p.m. ET?

Who Oddsmakers Like: New England. According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Patriots are 15.5-point favorites to beat the Jets, who opened as 16.5-point road underdogs before the line moved. The total, meanwhile, sits at 46 points after hitting the board at 43.5.

Who the Public Likes: As of Sunday morning, 60% of the betting tickets are on the Patriots to cover the point spread but 68% of the money is on the Jets.

Bet NFL Week 17 Games

Who the Trends Like: New York. The Jets are 7-1-1 against the spread in their nine meetings and 3-1-1 against the number in their last five games in New England. The over is also 7-2-1 in the last 10 meetings in New England and is 11-5-1 in the last 17 meetings overall.

Who We Like: New York. The Patriots need a win to clinch home field advantage with a win over the Jets today but that doesn't mean you should pay an inflated price for New England. The Pats have struggled in this series, going just 1-8 against the spread in the last nine meetings. The Jets have fought hard all season long and are 9-1-1 against the spread when they're coming off a loss. Tom Brady is a football god that has great numbers against everyone. But he has had issues with the Jets before and I don't see this being a blowout.
