Redskins vs. Cowboys Week 17 Prediction
The Cowboys need to beat the Redskins on Sunday and get some help from the Giants in order to supplant the Eagles for first place in the NFC East. Laying 13 points as a home favorite versus Washington, is Dallas a safe play for bettors?

Washington Redskins Fantasy Spin
Dwayne Haskins (ankle) is out for the Redskins' Week 17 matchup against the Cowboys. Case Keenum will draw the start. Haskins' ankle injury will require a few weeks of rest and rehab. The rookie was playing his best football of the season prior to exiting in Week 16, as Haskins had completed 12-of-15 passes for 133 yards and a pair of scores against the Giants' over-matched defense. Haskins also performed admirably in Week 15 against the Eagles after weeks of largely porous efforts. Hopefully the 2019 No. 15 overall pick can get some additional explosive pass-game weapons other than Terry McLaurin, along with a more modern offense that doesn't lean so much on first-and-10 runs.
Dallas Cowboys Fantasy Spin
Cowboys LT Tyron Smith (questionable, back) is not expected to play Week 17 against the Redskins. Smith's back injury prevented him from practicing this week. He'll go through pre-game warmups, though it's hard to envision him suiting up, even in a game the Cowboys desperately need. His absence would come as a huge downgrade for the Cowboys' O line. Backup Cameron Fleming struggled mightily in place of Smith earlier this year, allowing a sack and five quarterback hurries in losses to the Jets and Packers.
Washington
The Redskins are 1-4 against the spread in their last five meetings against the Cowboys but are 9-3 against the number in their last 12 games played in Dallas.
Dallas
The favorite is just 12-27 against the spread in the last 39 meetings between these two teams while the road team is 8-3 against the number in the last 11 meetings.
NFL Week 17 Prediction
This is too many points to lay with a Dallas team that has been freefalling for a month (save for the Cowboys’ surprising rout of the Rams in Week 15). The Cowboys are just 1-4 against the number in their last five games as a favorite and have dropped six of their last eight games against the spread after allowing more than 350 total yards in their previous game. Case Keenum isn’t great but as he showed last week, he can provide a spark. With the Cowboys also without left tackle Tyron Smith, I don’t expect their offense to be firing on all cylinders, especially given the unit’s struggles over the past month.
