Will the Dallas Cowboys see a few old faces take the field when they play the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday at 1PM ET? If so, what will it mean for the game?

According to the oddsmakers at BetDSI, the Eagles are actually favored in this contest, as they are getting odds of -3.5 points against the Cowboys. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 43 points. Dallas has won and covered in three of the last four in this series, including a 29-23 OT win back on Oct. 30 in Dallas.

The Cowboys are coming off a 42-21 win at home over the Detroit Lions on Monday night to move to 13-2 on the year. Dallas snapped a four-game streak of failing to cover in the win and the Cowboys are now 10-5 against the spread in 2016. The Cowboys average 27.2 points per game on offense this year while giving up just 18.6 points per contest on defense. The issue for Dallas could be their choice to rest top players. Dallas has nothing to play for, as it has locked up home-field for the playoffs. The team limited rookie running back Ezekiel Elliott to just 12 carries last week and he is likely to see few carries this week, if any. Sunday may be a chance for Tony Romo to finally see the field since returning from injury. Dallas may not want to risk Dak Prescott getting injured.

The Eagles are coming off a 24-19 win over the Giants last week at home to move to 6-9 on the year. The win snapped a five-game losing streak and allowed the Eagles to move to 7-8 against the spread. Philly is a team averaging 22.7 points per game on offense while giving up 21.2 points per game on defense. Carson Wentz has thrown for 3,537 yards and 14 touchdowns in his rookie year, but also has 14 interceptions. His leading receiver, Jordan Matthews, is listed as questionable for this game with an ankle injury while the backfield has numerous injuries, leaving Darren Sproles as the lone healthy back.

The Cowboys don’t have anything to play for and the Eagles have already proven that they still are going to give their all to win. The Eagles had a great effort at home last week against the Giants and they will want to have another solid effort in their home finale for their fans, trying to build some momentum for Wentz going into 2017. Look for the Cowboys to keep it simple and struggle on offense while the Eagles find a way to win and cover.
