New York Jets Fantasy Spin
Sam Darnold completed 16-of-26 passes for 174 yards with a touchdown and no interceptions while adding four carries for four additional yards Sunday in the Jets’ Week 16 victory over Pittsburgh. Darnold lost a combined nine yards on two sacks. One resulted in a fumble, which T.J. Watt retrieved for a turnover late in the first half. Darnold got off to a booming start, hitting the mark on five of his six opening-drive passes including a 23-yard touchdown strike to Robby Anderson. Unfortunately for Gang Green, that was the only touchdown the Steelers permitted all afternoon. Darnold predictably struggled in a tough matchup and could be headed for a similar fate next week against the Bills, who boast one of the league's top secondaries.
Buffalo Bills Fantasy Spin
Bills coach Sean McDermott said the team will "play a majority of the guys" in Week 17 against the Jets. "They're going to practice, they're going to play," McDermott said. He stopped just short of specifying how much Josh Allen would actually play, confirming Matt Barkley is also "likely" to see time under center. The Bills clinched the No. 5 seed in the AFC with their loss to the Patriots on Saturday and are unable to jostle their position, making Sunday's regular season finale a meaningless task to get through. Allen will start but isn't expected to log more than one quarter ahead of Wild Card weekend.
New York
The under is 10-3 in the Jets’ last 13 games after allowing less than 15 points in their previous contest.
Buffalo
The under has cashed in 10 of the Bills’ last 12 games after allowing more than 350 total yards in their previous contest.
NFL Week 17 Prediction
Whether Buffalo plays its starters or limits how many snaps each player receives, I like the under. In the Bills’ last five games overall, the under is 4-1. In their last seven home games, the under is 5-2. In their last 11 conference games, the under has cashed eight times. On the other side, the under is 4-1 in the Jets’ last five games overall, is 13-6 in their last 19 divisional games and is 4-1 in their last five conference tilts.
NFL WEEK 17 PREDICTION: JETS/BILLS UNDER 36.5
