Giants vs. Colts Total Prediction
Andrew Luck continues to receive plenty of warranted praise for his performance this season but the Colts defense continues to be underrated. Will they hold the Giants in check when New York visits Indy at 1:00 p.m. ET on Sunday?
Game Snapshot
111 New York Giants at 112 Indianapolis Colts
1:00 p.m. ET, Sunday, December 23
Lucas Oil Stadium, Indianapolis, Indiana
Public Betting Trends
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetNow.eu, the Colts are 9-point favorites to beat the Giants. The total, meanwhile, sits at 47 points. As of this writing, 52% of the public betting tickets are on the Colts to cover the point spread.
New York Giants
Odell Beckham (quad) did not practice Thursday. He also sat out Wednesday, and he appears set to miss his third game in a row. Evan Engram has really benefitted from Beckham's absence and will be a solid TE1 against the Colts.
Indianapolis Colts
Eric Ebron (quad) returned to full participation at Thursday's practice. This confirms that his absence on Wednesday was merely for maintenance purposes. Ebron should be eager to redeem himself Sunday against New York after turning in a dud in last week's win over Dallas (one catch for eight yards on three targets). He's No. 4 in our weekly tight end rankings.
NFL Betting Trends
New York
The Giants are a perfect 6-0 against the spread in their last six road games and are 4-1-1 ATS in their last six games overall.
Indianapolis
The Colts are 3-1-1 against the spread in their last five home games and are 5-2-1 ATS in their last eight games overall.
Prediction
The Colts defense will start to get its due now after shutting out the red-hot Cowboys last week but they’ve been solid over their last five games. They held the Titans to 10 points, the Dolphins to 24, the Jaguars to six, the Texans to 21 and shut out the Cowboys a week ago. The Giants have been solid on the road this season but without OBJ, they’ll once again rely on rookie Saquon Barkley, who was shut down by the Titans last Sunday. I see this weekend’s game being low-scoring in Indy.
