Colts vs. Cowboys Spread Prediction
The Indianapolis Colts are in a muddled group fighting for the final playoff spot in the AFC. Will they up-end a red-hot Dallas Cowboys team on Sunday while also covering the field goal as a favorite at home at 1:00 p.m. ET?
Game Snapshot
313 Dallas Cowboys at 314 Indianapolis Colts
1:00 p.m. ET, Sunday, December 16
Lucas Oil Stadium, Indianapolis, Indiana
Public Betting Trends
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetNow.eu, the Colts are 3-point favorites to beat the Cowboys. The total, meanwhile, sits at 47 points. As of this writing, 54% of the public betting tickets are on the Cowboys to cover the point spread.
Dallas Cowboys
Cowboys RG Zack Martin (knee) is out for Week 15 against the Colts. LT Tyron Smith (neck) is also questionable. Unfortunately for Dallas, Martin's absence propels rookie OG Connor Williams, who struggled immensely before being benched, back into the starting lineup on Sunday. The Colts don't generate much of a pass rush, but Martin is still a drastic loss in the middle of the line.
Indianapolis Colts
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports T.Y. Hilton (ankle, questionable) will be a game-time decision for Week 15 against the Cowboys. The good news is Hilton still has a shot to play, but it is not looking good after he sat out the entire week of practice. Dontrelle Inman, Ryan Grant, and Zach Pascal would pick up the slack at receiver if Hilton sits, but Eric Ebron would be the only trustworthy fantasy play among Andrew Luck's pass catchers.
NFL Betting Trends
Dallas
The Cowboys are a perfect 5-0 against the spread in their last five games.
Indianapolis
The Colts are 4-0 against the number in their last four games versus a team with a winning record.
Prediction
Two weeks ago on a Thursday night in Dallas, the Cowboys halted the win streak of the New Orleans Saints. Last Sunday, the Colts, despite getting shut out a week prior in Jacksonville, upset the Texans as 4.5-point underdogs to end Houston’s winning streak. Today, I expect Indy to do the same thing against the Cowboys. It’ll be difficult for Dallas to keep riding the high that they’ve been on the past five weeks. At some point they’ll suffer a letdown and I expect that letdown to come today against a non-conference opponent following an emotional win over a divisional rival a week ago (Eagles). Toss in the fact that Dallas’ offensive line is banged-up and Indy is desperate, this is a perfect storm to fade the Cowboys.
