Public Betting Trends
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetNow.eu, the Giants are 2-point favorites to beat the Titans. The total, meanwhile, sits at 43.5 points. As of this writing, 57% of the public betting tickets are on the Giants to cover the point spread.
Tennessee Titans
Marcus Mariota completed 18-of-24 passes for 162 yards with one interception in the Titans' Week 14 win over the Jaguars. Mariota had a first row seat to the Derrick Henry Show tonight, so Mariota wasn't needed. After Henry ran for his fourth touchdown of the night, the Titans purposely tried to get him a fifth score, which obviously hurt Mariota's fantasy line. The Titans will face another franchise in a downward spiral next week when they visit the New York Giants, and Mariota will be a QB2 in that contest with more opportunities for touchdowns.
New York Giants
Eli Manning took a seat in the fourth quarter of Sunday's Week 14 game with a 40-0 lead over Washington. The Giants did whatever they wanted against a hapless Washington team that started Mark Sanchez, then benched him for Josh Johnson. Manning finished 14-of-22 for 197 yards and three touchdowns. Giants management tried to tank this game by sitting Odell Beckham with a bruise, but the players (and the Redskins) would not let them. Manning and the G-Men will host the Titans next week.
NFL Betting Trends
Tennessee
The under is 4-1 in the Titans’ last five road games versus a team with a losing home record.
New York
The under is 4-1 in the Giants’ last five games after accumulating more than 150 yards rushing in their previous game.
Prediction
With the way the Titans ran the ball last Thursday night versus the Jaguars, there’s no reason to believe they’ll get away from their ground game on Sunday. The Giants have surrendered at least 115 yards on the ground in five of their last six games so while they’ve been winning, they’ve also been gashed by opponents’ running games. With both teams likely to lean on their rushing games throughout, the clock should be consistently moving.
NFL Week 15 Prediction: Titans/Giants under 43.5
