Seattle Seahawks Fantasy Spin
Russell Wilson completed 22-of-36 passes for 245 yards with an interception in Week 15 against the Rams. Wilson never really got going in this one, leading the Seahawks to a bunch of stalled drives. He was under constant pressures, taking five sacks and forcing throws outside the pocket. Wilson's interception came on a desperation Hail Mary with under two minutes remaining, but this was easily his worst game. It's a hit to Wilson's MVP chances and puts Seattle behind the 49ers for the No. 1 seed. Wilson has a rebound spot against a reeling Panthers secondary in Week 15.
Carolina Panthers Fantasy Spin
Kyle Allen completed 28-of-41 passes attempts for 293 yards, one touchdown, two interceptions, and one lost fumble in the Panthers' Week 14 loss to the Falcons. Allen was a fine fantasy play -- he added a garbage-time goal-line rushing touchdown -- but he completely tanked any chance the Panthers had at winning in Atlanta. Allen took five sacks for 48 yards, was inaccurate as a passer, and didn't elevate his teammates. Instead, he racked up meaningless production down multiple scores thanks to Christian McCaffrey, D.J. Moore, and Ian Thomas making plays. Carolina should see what they have in rookie QB Will Grier but that hasn't been discussed publicly. Allen will be a low-end QB2 against the Seahawks at home next week.
NFL Betting Trends
Seattle
The over is 12-5 in the Seahawks’ last 17 conference games and has cashed in 15 of their last 22 games overall.
Carolina
The over is 9-4 in the Panthers’ last 13 home games and is 7-2 in their last nine games overall.
Prediction
The over has hit in five of Carolina’s last six games coming off a loss and is 8-1 in Seattle’s last nine games as a road favorite. The over is also 6-1 in the Seahawks’ last seven games after allowing more than 250 yards passing in their previous contest and is a perfect 5-0 in the last five meetings between these two teams. Wilson and Co. were suffocated by Aaron Donald and the Rams defense last Sunday night, but they won’t face the same resistance this weekend when they take on a Panthers team that quit on their season two weeks ago. Carolina has one of the worst run defenses in the league and Seattle owns the No. 3 rushing attack in the NFL. Yards and points won’t be at a premium this Sunday at Bank of America Stadium.
