Bills heating up

Buffalo was unable to win a third straight game last week, but only lost 21-17 at Miami. The Bills have still won two of their last three. Buffalo is now 4-8 overall, 5-7 against the spread and 7-5 with the under. The Bills have covered in two of their last three as well, coming up ½ a point shy of three straight covers.

The Bills have been led by defense this season. Despite giving up 24.4 points per game, they have the second-best defense in the NFL in terms of yards allowed at just 294.2 per game. Their pass defense leads the NFL (187.2 ypg). Offensively, Buffalo is one of the worst in the league. They are 31st in points scored (14.8 ppg) and total yards (285.7 ypg). Still, rookie quarterback Josh Allen is showing improvement. He has thrown for 1,223 yards and five touchdowns with seven interceptions while rushing for 389 yards and four scores. LeSean McCoy is the leading rusher with 478 yards and two touchdowns while Zay Jones is the leading receiver with 41 catches for 459 yards and four scores.

Jets look lost

The New York Jets have lost six straight games coming into Sunday following a 26-22 loss at Tennessee last week. New York is 3-9 overall, 4-8 against the spread and 7-5 with the over. They did manage to cover last week, but had failed to cover in five straight prior to that.

The Jets are not playing well on either side of the ball. The defense is giving up 25.6 points and 376.4 yards per game while the offense averages just 20.2 points and 300.4 yards per contest. Rookie QB Sam Darnold has thrown for 1,934 yards and 11 touchdowns, but has 14 interceptions. He’s been bothered by a foot injury, but is expected to play today. Leading rusher Isaiah Crowell may not play. He is a game-time decision with a toe injury. Crowell has rushed for 680 yards and six touchdowns.

NFL Betting Trends

Buffalo

The Bills are just 4-9 ATS in their last 13 division games and 2-5 ATS in their last seven Week 14 games.

New York

The Jets are 3-7 against the spread in their last 10 conference games and 0-5 ATS in their last five division games.

Prediction:

Buffalo just dominated the Jets in New York a few weeks ago, winning 41-10. The Bills are playing with a lot of confidence right now as Allen has earned the respect of his teammates and the fan base. The Jets are a mess right now and haven’t shown much fight in recent weeks. They are likely to look flat again on the road. Darnold is going to deal with a lot of pressure from the Bills and it’s likely to lead to a short field and points for Buffalo.

NFL Prediction: Buffalo Bills -4
