Los Angeles Chargers

Melvin Gordon (knee) is out for Week 13 against the Steelers. Gordon didn't get in any practice work this week and was always a long shot to suit up after sustaining an MCL sprain Sunday against Arizona. Austin Ekeler will lead the backfield in his absence and makes for a solid RB2 play across all fantasy formats. Consider Gordon week-to-week.

Pittsburgh Steelers

Vance McDonald (hip) returned to a full practice on Thursday. McDonald sat out Wednesday's session but it was probably just for rest purposes. Obviously this puts him on track to play Sunday night against the Chargers. Going against one of the league's better secondaries, McDonald won't be a recommended streaming option this week.

Prediction

The Steelers return home following back-to-back road games and I expect Pittsburgh to get a focused effort out of Ben Roethlisberger, who turned the ball over multiple times in the team’s loss last week to the Broncos. Big Ben and the Steelers are a different team at home than they are on the road and they’ll face a Chargers team that will travel cross-country without the services of their best player, Melvin Gordon. Not sure why bettors only have to lay a field goal with the Steelers but I’ll gladly back Pittsburgh.
