Chicago has one of the top defenses in the NFL right now. They are second in defensive scoring (19.2 ppg) and fourth in total defense (316.1 ypg). Their run defense is also second in the NFL (80.8 ypg). When it comes to offense, the Bears put up 28.8 points per game despite averaging just 349.4 yards per contest. Trubisky has thrown for 2,469 yards and 20 touchdowns while rushing for 363 yards and three more scores. He is battling a shoulder injury and is not expected to play this Sunday either. Chase Daniel will likely get his second start. Daniel threw for 230 yards and two touchdowns against the Lions. Jordan Howard is leading the offense with 536 rushing yards and five touchdowns.

Giants unable to win third straight

The New York Giants had their brief two-game win streak come to an end last weekend in a 25-22 loss at Philadelphia. The Giants are now 3-8 on the season, 5-5-1 against the spread and 6-5 with the under.

The big problem this year for New York has been on defense. The Giants are giving up 26.2 points and 377.8 yards per game. Both rank in the bottom third of the NFL. Offensively, New York is putting up 21.5 points and 351.3 yards per contest. The team has an impressive rookie in Saquon Barkley. He has rushed for 829 yards and eight touchdowns while catching 71 passes for 581 yards and four scores. Odell Beckham Jr. has added 74 receptions for 1,017 yards and five touchdowns. Eli Manning has thrown for 3,093 yards and 14 touchdowns with seven interceptions. He has been sacked 38 times.

Prediction:

The Giants defense may not be very good, but I would expect them to look better against Daniel. The Chicago offense scoring numbers are inflated due to their strong defense. The Bears don’t offer much of a ground attack and Daniel isn’t going to light up an opposing defense. New York will struggle to block this Chicago defense, so I see the Giants being kept to a low score as well. I like the Bears to hit their second straight under on Sunday.
