Los Angeles Chargers Fantasy Spin
Keenan Allen caught 8-of-12 targets for 71 yards and one touchdown in the Chargers' Week 11 loss to the Chiefs. Allen tied Austin Ekeler (8-108) for the team lead in targets, but it was Allen who caught Philip Rivers' lone touchdown pass. It was Allen's first touchdown and most yards since Week 3. It was a much-needed slump-busting game for the slot man. He's drawn double-digit targets in four of the last five games and will now head into the bye before a road date with the Broncos. Allen had just four catches for 18 scoreless yards against Denver in Week 5.
Denver Broncos Fantasy Spin
Drew Lock was the first quarterback up in Broncos practice Thursday. Lock took the first first-team rep. Brandon Allen will presumably rotate in, but nearly every sign is pointing toward Lock coming off injured reserve to make his NFL debut and first start. Lock was extremely raw over the summer, but it is hard to believe he could be a worse option than Allen at this point. Big-play obsessed, Lock could also spark Courtland Sutton and Noah Fant.
NFL Betting Trends
Los Angeles
The under is 21-5-1 in the Chargers’ last 27 games played in the month of December.
Denver
The under is 20-5-1 in the Broncos’ last 26 games played inside their conference.
Prediction
The under is a perfect 4-0 in the last four meetings between these two teams and has cashed in 10 of the Broncos’ last 12 home games. The under is also 12-3-1 in the Broncos’ last 16 divisional games, is 19-7 in their last 26 games played in the month of December and is 12-3-1 in their last 26 divisional matchups. On the other side, the under is 8-2 in the Chargers’ last 10 games overall, is 11-3 in their last 14 divisional games and has cashed in six of their last seven games following a loss. With a rookie in Lock potentially making his NFL debut for the Broncos and the Chargers struggling to keep Philip Rivers upright, the under should be a safe play for bettors this weekend in Denver.
