Public Betting Trends
According to oddsmakers at BetNow.eu, the Colts are favored at home in this game, as they are getting odds of -7.5 points against the Dolphins. The over/under total for the contest is currently listed at 51 points. The public betting for this game currently has 57 percent going on the Dolphins on the road.
Colts on a hot streak
The Indianapolis Colts are one of the hottest teams in the NFL right now, winning four straight after a 38-10 victory over the Titans last week. Indy is now 5-5 overall, 5-4-1 against the spread and 6-4 with the over. The Colts have hit the over in five of their last seven games.
The Colts are really heating up on offense, as they have scored 37 or more in three of their last four. On the year, they are averaging 29.8 per game while putting up 381.5 yards per contest. Andrew Luck has thrown for 2,769 yards and 29 touchdowns with just nine interceptions. He has spread the ball out well. T.Y. Hilton is the leading receiver with 38 catches for 585 yards and six scores. Marlon Mack is the leading rusher with 471 yards and four touchdowns. Defensively, Indy is allowing 24.9 points and 364.9 yards per game. Their pass defense is 23rd in the NFL, allowing 259.2 yards per contest.
Dolphins healing up
The Miami Dolphins suffered their third loss in four games, as they fell 31-12 at Green Bay two weeks ago before going on the bye week. The Dolphins are now 5-5 overall, 5-5 against the spread and 5-5 with the over/under total. They have hit the under in their last two games.
Miami is not performing well on offense this year, averaging just 19.9 points and 313.6 yards per game. Brock Osweiler has thrown for 1,247 yards with six touchdowns and four interceptions in place of Ryan Tannehill. However, Tannehill is expected to suit up today after missing the last five games with a shoulder injury. He has thrown for 972 yards and eight touchdowns with five interceptions this year. Frank Gore has 528 rushing yards to lead Miami on the ground. Danny Amendola is the leading receiver with 47 catches for 456 yards and a score. Defensively, Miami is allowing 25.6 points and 391.6 yards per contest. Their run defense ranks 29th in the NFL, allowing 141.3 yards per game.
NFL Betting Trends
Indianapolis
The Colts have hit the under in six of their last seven games in November, but have hit the over in six of their last eight conference games.
Miami
The Dolphins have hit the under in five of their last six road games and have hit the over in four of their last five following a bye.
Prediction:
The Colts will score some points. They have put up at least 29 in five straight and six of their last seven. This Miami defense certainly doesn’t seem like one to end that streak. The Miami offense could see a surge in production with Tannehill back. Miami says their will be no limitations on him and the Dolphins will need to score if they are going to win. While the total is set pretty high, I can see both teams comfortably getting into the high 20’s to allow the over to hit without much difficulty.
NFL Prediction: Dolphins/Colts Over 51
