Giants vs. Redskins Prediction
Are the Washington Redskins laying too many points to division rivals the New York Giants on Thanksgiving night? Kickoff for this NFC East matchup is set for 8:30 p.m. ET.
Who Oddsmakers Like: Washington. According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Redskins are 7-point home favorites versus the Giants after opening as a 7-point favorite. The total, meanwhile, is sitting at 45 points after hitting the board at 41.5.
Who the Public Likes: Washington. As of Thursday morning, the Redskins were receiving 65% of the tickets to cover the spread tonight.
Who the Trends Like: The under and the Giants. The under is 4-1 in the last five meetings between these two teams in Washington and has cashed in eight of the last 11 meetings overall. The underdog is also 10-3 against the spread in the last 13 meetings between these two teams while the Giants have covered in six of the last eight meetings.
Who We Like: New York. The Giants proved a week ago in their victory over the Chiefs that they haven't yet given up on their season. Orleans Darkwa said Eli Manning fired up the team before the game and that helped motivate New York to pull off a miracles victory over a Kansas City team that was favored by double-digits on the road. The Giants are 5-1 against the spread in their last six road games versus a team with a losing home record and has cashed in four of their last five games played on Thursday.
Meanwhile, the Redskins inexplicably blew a sizable lead to the Saints last week in New Orleans. Now they have to turn around and play a familiar foe on a short week. What's Washington's motivation at this point? I'm not sure, so I'm not laying a full touchdown to a Giants team that is playing with a little more confidence suddenly.
