Redskins vs. Texans Week 11 Prediction
The Houston Texans are laying a field goal on the road against the Washington Redskins Sunday at 1:00 p.m. ET. Even though public bettors are on the road favorite, are the Texans still the best play when it comes to the spread in this matchup?
Game Snapshot
463 Houston Texans at 464 Washington Redskins
1:00 p.m. ET, Sunday, November 18
FedExField, Landover, Maryland
Public Betting Trends
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetNow.eu, the Texans are 3-point favorites to beat the Redskins. The total, meanwhile, sits at 42 points. As of this writing, 60% of the public betting tickets are on the Texans to cover the point spread.
Houston Texans
Keke Coutee (questionable, hamstring) traveled with the team to Washington. It confirms he's a game-time decision. We're expecting Coutee to play coming off Houston's bye, but he's a Week 11 fade at less than 100 percent.
Washington Redskins
Chris Thompson (ribs) is out for Week 11 against the Texans. Thompson didn't practice all week, putting his status for Thanksgiving against the Cowboys in jeopardy, too. With Samaje Perine (calf) ruled out, the Redskins will have only Adrian Peterson and Kapri Bibbs available in their backfield Sunday. It's likely the team promotes Byron Marshall from the practice squad just to have another body.
NFL Betting Trends
Houston
The Texans are 4-0 against the spread in their last four games coming off a bye.
Washington
The Redskins are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games overall and are 6-2 ATS in their last eight home games.
Prediction
Washington held Tampa Bay to only a single field goal last Sunday but that was a bit misleading. The Redskins allowed over 500 yards defensively, including 398 through the air but they also forced four turnovers, creating multiple takeaways in the red zone. Washington also remains banged-up along its offensive line, which is problematic with J.J. Watt and Co. coming to town. I’m laying the three points with the better team coming off their bye.
