Eagles vs. Saints Total Prediction
In yet another shootout potential at the Superdome, the New Orleans Saints will host the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles at 4:25 p.m. ET on Sunday. Even with the total sitting in the mid-50s will the over cash?
Game Snapshot
459 Philadelphia Eagles at 460 New Orleans Saints
4:25 p.m. ET, Sunday, November 18
Mercedes-Benz Superdome, New Orleans, Louisiana
Public Betting Trends
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetNow.eu, the Saints are 8-point favorites to beat the Eagles. The total, meanwhile, sits at 56 points. As of this writing, 58% of the public betting tickets are on the Saints to cover the point spread.
Philadelphia Eagles
Coach Doug Pederson said Golden Tate is "much further along this week" and will have a bigger role Week 11 against the Saints. Tate was in on just 29% of the snaps in his Eagles debut last Sunday night against Dallas, catching 2-of-4 targets for 19 yards. Highly disappointing for sure, but Tate will be tough to sit in New Orleans on the fast Superdome track in what is expected to be a big-time shootout. Tate is a WR3.
New Orleans Saints
Saints LT Terron Armstead (shoulder) is expected to miss 3-4 weeks. Armstead injured his shoulder/pec in Sunday's blowout of the Bengals. It's a huge hit to the Saints offensive line, leaving Jermon Bushrod to protect Drew Brees' blindside. Armstead won't return until Week 13 at the earliest.
NFL Betting Trends
Philadelphia
The over is 5-0 in the Eagles’ last five games after allowing more than 350 total yards in their previous game.
New Orleans
The over is 4-1 in the Saints’ last five games coming off a win of more than 14 points.
Prediction
Not many teams have slowed the Saints down this season, especially at home. That Philadelphia team that went to the Super Bowl last season may have stood a shot but this current Eagles pass defense has not shot. They were already banged-up before losing cornerback Ronald Darby for the season last week, now they’re vulnerable in their secondary. The over is 6-2 in the last eight meetings between these two teams and should be 7-2 after Sunday.
