New York Jets Fantasy Spin

Jets coach Adam Gase said the conversations he's had with Le'Veon Bell over his recent usage have been "productive." Bell has been miffed by his lack of touches, a concern he brought to the attention of Gase following Sunday's loss to Jacksonville. Whatever Gase told Bell in their conversations must have done the trick as both sides seem to have put this misunderstanding in the rearview mirror. It's been a rough start for Bell in East Rutherford, though a get-right spot against the listless Dolphins in Week 9 could be just what the doctor ordered.

Miami Dolphins Fantasy Spin

Dolphins placed CB Xavien Howard on injured reserve with a knee injury, ending his season. Returning from a knee issue Monday evening, Howard apparently suffered a new one. He was on the field for just 47-of-74 plays. NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports it is not an ACL or MCL injury. This has the feel of an overly-aggressive move from an actively-tanking team, but something clearly isn't right with 26-year-old Howard's knee. There is no need to risk further injury this season. Howard just signed an extension through 2023 last spring. He will be back as the No. 1 corner in 2020.

The over is 4-0 in Jets’ last four games after allowing more than 350 total yards in their previous game.

The under is 12-2 in Dolphins' last 14 games after scoring less than 15 points in their previous game.

NFL Week 9 Prediction

These two offenses have struggled but the Dolphins are horrendous defensively and the Jets nearly traded safety Jamal Adams this week, so there’s some tension inside that New York locker room. Sam Darnold has struggled but again, this Miami defense has struggled against both the run and the pass this season. The over is 4-1 in the Dolphins’ last five games coming off an ATS win and is 6-1 in the Jets’ last seven games versus a team with a losing record.
