Broncos vs. Chiefs Prediction
Despite their struggles offensively, are the Broncos still a good bet to cover the spread against the Chiefs tonight at 8:30PM ET?
Who: Broncos (3-3) at Chiefs (5-2)
When: 8:30PM ET, Monday, Octobe r30
Where: Arrowhead Stadium, Kansas City, MO
Who Oddsmakers Like: Kansas City. According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Chiefs opened as a 7-point favorite versus the Broncos and that’s where the number currently sits at the majority of online sports books. As for the the over/under, it currently sits at 42.5 points, down from the original number of 44.5. As for the point spread,
Who the Public Likes: Kansas City, which isn’t surprising. The Chiefs are 5-2 straight up and 5-2 against the spread this season, while the Broncos are just 2-3-1 at the betting window and 3-3 overall. Denver is coming off a game in which it was shut out by the Chargers, so yeah, the public is going to ride the 5-2 team that is currently leading the division. As of this writing, over 60% of tickets are currently on Kansas City to cover the spread.
Who the Trends Like: Denver. The Broncos are 6-2 at the betting window in their last eight trips to Kansas City. The road team has also covered the spread in six of the last seven meetings between these two teams and the underdog has covered in five of the last six games in this series.
Who We Like: Denver. I’m well aware of Trevor Siemian’s struggles to move the football but the Chiefs have major questions on defense. Eric Berry is already out and now Justin Houston is questionable with a knee injury. The Raiders, who did little to nothing Sunday against the Bills, moved the ball at will versus the Chiefs last Thursday night. Granted, Oakland has better talent on offense, but Kansas City’s defensive struggles are still real. Plus, if any team is going to slow down Alex Smith and Kansas City’s offense, it would be Denver with that outstanding defense. I’ll roll the dice that the Broncos defense keeps the team in the game throughout.
NFL WEEK 8 OVER/UNDER PREDICTION: BRONCOS/CHIEFS UNDER 42.5
