Redskins vs. Vikings Total Prediction
Thursday Night Football heads to Minneapolis in Week 8 when the Vikings host the Redskins at 8:20 p.m. ET. After opening at 40, the over/under has climbed to 42. Has the number been set too low or is there value in the under?

Washington Redskins Fantasy Spin
Redskins RB Chris Thompson (toe) is out for Week 8 against the Vikings. Adrian Peterson (ankle) is questionable. Thompson hasn't practiced since initially being diagnosed with turf toe eight days ago and should be considered questionable at best for Washington's Week 9 contest in Buffalo. His 4.5 catches per game could fall into Wendell Smallwood's lap if Peterson's ruled out.
Minnesota Vikings Fantasy Spin
Adam Thielen (hamstring) is out for Week 8 against the Redskins Thursday night. As expected. The short week was too much to overcome, but Thielen's strain isn't believed to be severe. The Vikings promoted WR Davion Davis from the practice squad. Olabisi Johnson and Laquon Treadwell will soak up the snaps behind Stefon Diggs, with Johnson being the bigger beneficiary in an offense that doesn't run a ton of three-wide sets.
NFL Betting Trends
Washington
The under is 4-1 in the Redskins’ last five games after allowing less than 150 yards passing in their previous game.
Minnesota
The under is 8-3 in the Vikings’ last 11 games after allowing more than 250 yards passing in their previous game.
Prediction
The Redskins played the 49ers on a pond last weekend, so points were going to be at a premium. That said, Washington’s offense is a mess and outside of Terry McLaurin, the team doesn’t have many weapons. Minnesota’s defense should feast and assuming the Vikings don’t cover the over themselves, I see the most value in the under. Speaking of which, the under is 9-4 in the Redskins’ last 13 road games and is 4-0 in their last four games overall. On the other side, the under is also 9-4 in the Vikings’ last 13 games overall and is 8-2 in their last 10 conference games.
