Cardinals vs. Cowboys Over/Under Pick

Monday Night Football, 10/19/20 Cardinals vs. Cowboys Over/Under Prediction

The total for tonight’s Monday Night Football clash between the Cardinals and Cowboys opened at 52 but has climbed to 55 points at most sportsbooks. Will these teams combine to score enough to push the final score over that number or is the under a better bet?

Game Snapshot

275 Arizona Cardinals (+1) at 276 Dallas Cowboys (-1); o/u 55

Arizona Cardinals Game Notes

Cardinals coach Kliff Kingsbury confirmed OLB Chandler Jones (biceps) is out for the season. This was expected after Jones left Week 5 with a torn biceps. Jones has a 3-4 month timetable, putting him on track for a normal offseason. The Cardinals will replace Jones with a committee led by Dennis Gardeck. 30-year-old Jones will be entering the final year of his contract in 2021.

Dallas Cowboys Game Notes

Ezekiel Elliott rushed 20 times for 91 yards and two touchdowns in the Cowboys' Week 5 win over the Giants. He added just one catch for 14 yards on two targets in the pass game. Elliott pounded one in from one yard out in the second quarter after getting stuffed on the previous play, and then he scored again from 12 yards out in the third quarter 1:30 after Dak Prescott suffered his gruesome broken right ankle. With Prescott lost for the season and Andy Dalton installed under center, look for the offense to run even more through Elliott. He's the No. 1 fantasy back moving forward and has six touchdowns through five games. The 2-3 Cowboys host the Cardinals in Week 6.

Cardinals vs. Cowboys Over/Under Prediction

Even though this total is high and Dak Prescott is out for the season for Dallas, I won’t be taking the under in any Cowboys games until they start playing defense. The over is a perfect 4-0 in the Cowboys’ last four games overall, is 5-0 in their last five home games and has cashed in four straight games that they’re favored to win. The over is also 16-5 in Dallas’ last 21 conference games and is 16-5 in the team’s last 21 games coming off a failed cover in its previous contest. Given the firepower of the Cardinals’ offense and the fact that Arizona’s only pass rusher (Jones) is out, the Cowboys should score plenty tonight as well.
