Carolina Panthers Fantasy Spin
Christian McCaffrey rushed 19 times for 176 yards and two touchdowns in the Panthers' Week 5 win over the Jaguars. That is not all, as CMC added another six catches on nine targets for 61 yards and a score. No linebackers have an answer for McCaffrey one on one, and Myles Jack fell victim to a hesitation route at the second level that resulted in an 18-yard touchdown. For the second straight week, McCaffrey scored on a long touchdown run down the middle of the defense, this one for 84 yards. He was forced out for the Panthers final few drives with cramps, and backup Reggie Bonnafon produced a few impactful plays. A capable backup would actually keep McCaffrey fresher in fourth quarters. You might not think running backs matter, but Christian McCaffrey definitely does.
Tampa Bay Bucs Fantasy Spin
Mike Evans was held without a catch on three targets in the Bucs' Week 5 loss to the Saints. Locked down by Marshon Lattimore, Evans also suffered the indignity of a P.J. Williams PBU. Evans was hurt by an under siege Jameis Winston, who rarely had time to let plays develop. Evans could have a tough time bouncing back against James Bradberry and the Panthers in Week 6. Evans went just 5/64 across two 2018 matchups with Carolina.
NFL Betting Trends
Carolina
The over is 10-3 in the Panthers’ last 13 games after scoring more than 30 points in their previous game.
Tampa Bay
The over is 8-3 in the Bucs’ last 11 games after allowing more than 250 yards passing in their previous game.
Prediction
The under has been profitable when these two teams meet, cashing in six of the previous seven meetings. The under is also 5-1 in the Panthers’ last six games versus an opponent with a losing record and is 4-1 in their last five divisional games. On the other side, the under is 5-2 in the Bucs’ last seven games versus a team with a winning record.
NFL Week 6 Prediction: Panthers/Bucs UNDER 47.5
