Arizona Cardinals Fantasy Spin

Cardinals WR Christian Kirk (ankle) has been ruled out for the team's Week 5 matchup against the Bengals. Kirk appears to at least have a good chance at returning in Week 6. We expect the Cardinals to roll with Larry Fitzgerald, KeeSean Johnson and Trent Sherfield in three-wide sets. The second slot WR in four-wide sets remains a mystery. It'd make sense if second-round pick Andy Isabella got that job, but coach Kliff Kingsbury noted that they want Isabella to primarily stay on the outside. It'd still be somewhat shocking to see career journeyman and return specialist Pharoh Cooper play well ahead of Isabella.

Cincinnati Bengals Fantasy Spin

Bengals placed WR John Ross (clavicle) on injured reserve. Ross can't catch a break in terms of injuries; he'll be sidelined a minimum of eight games before being eligible to return from I.R. Ross left with a shoulder injury this past Monday night and has been diagnosed with a collarbone issue. Ross can now be dropped in season-long leagues. The Bengals signed WR Stanley Morgan off their practice squad to take Ross' spot.

NFL Betting Trends

Arizona

The Cardinals are 5-2-1 against the spread in their last eight road games dating back to last season.

Cincinnati

The Bengals have covered the spread in six of their last eight games overall but are just 1-6 against the number in their last seven home contests.

Prediction

This is an ugly matchup but the question becomes, do I believe the Cardinals can win on the road, even against a bad Bengals team? Not with their injuries. Seven players on their roster missed practice on Thursday, most notably receivers Kirk and Damiere Byrd (hamstring). While the Bengals are also getting thinner by the week in the receiving department, Andy Dalton should tear up an Arizona defense that has yet to intercept a pass this season. The Cardinals have allowed 271 yards per game and 10 total touchdowns.

NFL Week 5 Prediction: Cincinnati Bengals -3
