Saints vs. Chargers Prediction
Are the Saints a decent bet to cover versus the Chargers today in San Diego when the two teams square off at 4:25PM ET?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Chargers are now 4-point home favorites versus the Saints after New Orleans opened as a 4.5-point underdog. The total, meanwhile, sits at 54 points after it hit the board at 53.5 earlier this week.
The Saints are 6-1 against the spread in their last seven games in October, 8-2 against the number in their last 10 games in Week 4, and are 6-1 ATS in their last seven games when playing on Sunday after they played on Monday night. That said, New Orleans is 1-7 against the spread in its last eight games when facing a team that owns a losing record.
The Chargers enter play today 6-1 against the spread in their last seven games overall and are 4-1 against the number in their last five games versus an opponent with a losing record. That said, they're a horrendous 3-11 at the betting window in their last 14 home games and are 1-6 ATS in their last seven games in October.
OUR PREDICTION: Drew Brees will fight tooth and nail to get the Saints their first win of the season and while Sean Payton's offense is less explosive on the road than it is in New Orleans, look for his squad to play hard today. The Chargers are a competitive 1-2 but they're 1-2 nonetheless. This should be a field-goal in either direction, so take the points with a desperate Saints team.
