That said, New Orleans is 1-7 against the spread in its last eight games when facing a team that owns a losing record.

The Chargers enter play today 6-1 against the spread in their last seven games overall and are 4-1 against the number in their last five games versus an opponent with a losing record. OUR PREDICTION: Drew Brees will fight tooth and nail to get the Saints their first win of the season and while Sean Payton's offense is less explosive on the road than it is in New Orleans, look for his squad to play hard today. The Chargers are a competitive 1-2 but they're 1-2 nonetheless. This should be a field-goal in either direction, so take the points with a desperate Saints team.
