Panthers vs. Falcons Prediction
What's the best play on the board today for bettors when the Falcons host NFC South rival the Panthers at 1:00PM ET?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Panthers are now 3-point road favorites versus the Falcons after opening as a 3.5-point favorite. As for the total, the number opened at 50 and has been bet down to 48.5.
The Panthers are 0-5 against the spread in their last five road games and just 1-5 against the number in their last six road games versus a team that owns a winning home record going into the game. That said, they're 4-1 ATS in their last five games versus NFC opponents and a stout 9-2 at the betting window in their last 11 games played in October.
The Falcons are 1-6 against the spread in their last seven home games and are 2-7 against the number in their last nine games versus NFC South rivals despite beating the Saints outright as a 3-point dog on Monday night. Atlanta is also 0-6 at the betting window in its last six games after allowing more than 350 total yards in its previous game.

OUR PREDICTION: The Panthers are 1-2 but those two loses came against teams that own among the best defenses in the league, Denver and Minnesota. The Falcons don't boast the same pass-rush as the Broncos and Vikings do and thus, Cam Newton will have plenty of time to find receiver Kelvin Benjamin today after the wideout was held to zero catches a week ago in the loss to Minnesota. The Falcons employ an explosive offense but they've racked up a lot of yards and points versus Tampa Bay, Oakland and New Orleans, which isn't exactly a Murder's Row of defenses. Atlanta will meet its match today in a revenge spot for Carolina. (Remember, the Falcons were the only team to beat the Panthers in the regular season last year and it came in Week 16 at the Georgia Dome.)
