Cincinnati Bengals Fantasy Spin
Bengals LT Cordy Glenn (concussion) resumed practicing on Thursday, getting in a limited session. It was Glenn's first practice since training camp. Although he's no difference maker in his own right, Glenn's fill-in Andre Smith has been even worse. If we were guessing, Glenn will miss one more game before returning in Week 5 but this gives him a legitimate shot at suiting up Monday night against the Steelers.
Pittsburgh Steelers Fantasy Spin
Mason Rudolph completed 14-of-27 passes for 174 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception in the Steelers' Week 3 loss to the 49ers. Rudolph's stat line was aided by a 76-yard touchdown to JuJu Smith-Schuster, who did most of the work by running down the sideline to find the end zone. If not for that score and if not for the 49ers' five turnovers, the Steelers' offense could have looked a lot worse. Rudolph was pressured by an emerging 49ers' pass rush, but he should have an easier time next week in a home game against the Bengals. If Rudolph doesn't show more then, it will be closer to panic time.
NFL Betting Trends
Cincinnati
The Bengals are 7-2 against the spread in their last nine games versus the AFC North.
Pittsburgh
The Steelers are 4-10 against the number in their last 14 home games and have dropped six of their last eight games at the betting window in the month of September.
Prediction
To be safe, I’m going to buy the hook down to 3 but I do like the winless Steelers tonight. Rudolph did not play well last week in Santa Clara but I think the Pittsburgh defense steps up tonight. The Bills have proven in the first month of the season that they have one of the better defenses in the league this season, but nevertheless, the Bengals couldn’t generate much offensively last week in Buffalo. They racked up just 306 total yards with only 17 first downs and turned the ball over four times. I think this is the game the Steelers circle the wagons, pick up their first win and post a cover as well.
