Saints vs. Chargers Pick
The Saints own the worst defense in the league but will the under still hit in San Diego when they visit the Chargers at 4:25PM ET on Sunday?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Chargers are 3.5-point home favorites versus the Saints after opening at -4.5. As for the total, the over/under currently sits at 53.5 after opening at that same number.
NEW ORLEANS: The Saints dropped to 0-3 on the year and 1-2 against the spread with their 45-32 loss to the Falcons on Monday Night Football. Drew Brees completed 36-of-54 pass attempts for 376 yards with three touchdowns and an interception but the Saints' defense allowed Devonta Freeman to rush for 152 yards on just 14 carries. Tevin Coleman also rushed 12 times for 42 yards with three touchdowns.
SAN DIEGO: The Chargers fell to 1-2 straight up and 2-1 against the spread following a 26-22 defeat at Indianapolis last Sunday. Philip Rivers completed 26-of-39 passes for 330 yards with no touchdowns or picks, while Melvin Gordon rushed for just 35 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries in the loss.
OUR PICK: Bettors will be clamoring to bet the over in every Saints game moving forward after they allowed 45 points to the Falcons on Monday night. But the under is a perfect 4-0 in New Orleans' last four road games, including 1-0 this season when the Giants and Saints played to a 16-13 final in East Rutherford in Week 2. The under is also 4-1 in the Chargers' last five home games and is 5-2 in their last seven games versus a team with a losing record.
