Seattle Seahawks Fantasy Spin
Rashaad Penny (hamstring) returned to Seahawks practice Thursday, getting in a limited session. Penny might still be on the outside looking in of returning after missing Week 3, but this at least gives him a chance to suit up against the Cardinals. Penny's return would render C.J. Prosise a nonentity in the Seahawks' backfield. It's unclear if it would have an effect on Chris Carson, who is under fire for fumbling. Both coach Pete Carroll and OC Brian Schottenheimer have insisted the team is sticking with Carson as its lead back.
Arizona Cardinals Fantasy Spin
Kyler Murray completed 30-of-43 passes for 173 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions in the Cardinals' 35-20, Week 3 loss to the Panthers. Murray rushed eight times for a season-high 69 yards after rushing for just 17 yards Weeks 1-2. That was about the only positive from his day. He absorbed eight sacks, often running backwards on them and setting the offense back in a big way. The offensive line is horrible, but Murray needs to learn to step up in the pocket and not run backwards or simply throw the ball away. Turning 43 pass attempts into 173 yards is unacceptable. A 4.0 yards per attempt average is comically bad. He could have easily thrown 5-6 interceptions and was dangerously close to tossing multiple pick-sixes. Christian Kirk dropped a deep pass in the second quarter, and Trent Sherfield had a hot one zip through his hands on what could have been a 35-yard touchdown. Murray will try to regroup ahead of a Week 4 home date with the Seahawks. He's merely a borderline QB1.
NFL Betting Trends
Seattle
The over is 4-0 in the Seahawks’ last four games after allowing less than 90 yards rushing in their previous game.
Arizona
The over is 4-1 in the Cardinals’ last five games after allowing more than 350 total yards in their previous game.
Prediction
Murray rushed more last week than he had in the previous three and that adds a different dimension to this Arizona offense. He also has been turnover prone, which has set up Cardinal opponents with great field position. I think we’ll see both elements of Murray’s game on display on Sunday, leading to another shootout in Arizona. The over is 5-0 in the Seahawks’ last five road games, is 6-1 in their last seven games overall an d is 5-0 in their last five divisional games. On the other side, the over is 4-1 in the Cardinals’ last five conference games.
