Vikings vs. Panthers Pick
Will Sunday's matchup between the Vikings and Panthers be a defensive struggle throughout when the two teams clash at 1:00PM ET?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Panthers are 7.5-point home favorites versus the Vikings while the over/under currently sits at 43 points. Neither the side nor the total have moved off the original numbers posted by oddsmakers.
MINNESOTA: The Vikings are 2-0 both straight up and against the spread after beating the Packers 17-14 as a 1.5-point home underdog last Sunday night. Sam Bradford played a tremendous game, especially considering he only had a few weeks to learn Norv Turner's offense after being acquired by Philadelphia following the Teddy Bridgewater injury. Bradford was 22-of-31 for 286 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions, connecting with Stefon Diggs nine times for 182 yards and a score.
CAROLINA: The Panthers are 1-1 now after beating the 49ers 46-27 as a 12-point home favorite last Sunday. Cam Newton had an enormous game, completing 24 of 40 passes for 353 yards with four touchdowns and one interception. Receiver Kelvin Benjamin (seven catches, 108 yards, two touchdowns) and tight end Greg Olsen (five catches, 122 yards, 1 touchdown) both had big games as well. The team did lose Jonathan Stewart to a hamstring injury, so the victory came with a price.
OUR PICK: The Vikings are a perfect under team thanks to a defense that is outstanding and an offense that has been one-dimensional. In fact, the under is 4-1-1 in the Vikings' last six road games and is 14-5-1 in their last 20 games overall. The under is also 9-4-1 in Minnesota's last 14 games following a straight up win and 12-4 in its last 20 games overall. Despite the Panthers' huge offensive day last Sunday, the Vikings aren't the 49ers defensively.
