New York Giants DFS Spin
Daniel Jones completed 26-of-41 passes for 279 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions in the Giants' 26-16, Week 1 loss to the Steelers Monday night. He also led the team with 22 rushing yards on six attempts, as Saquon Barkley was completely bottled up for six yards on 15 carries. Jones took three sacks. He tossed a total dime to Darius Slayton over the top of the defense for a 41-yard touchdown in the second quarter for his first score and later hit Slayton again in the last couple minutes of the fourth quarter for the other score. On one of Jones' interceptions, he was hit on the throw in the red zone and was picked off by DE Cameron Heyward at the goal line as he tried to contort his body while throwing. Jones flashes glimpses of brilliance as a playmaker but too often makes silly mistakes. He remains a work in progress ahead of a Week 2 date with the Giants.
Chicago Bears DFS Spin
Mitchell Trubisky completed 20-of-36 passes for 242 yards and three touchdowns in Week 1 against the Lions. Trubisky had a rough start, failing to convert seven straight third downs to open the game. He threw behind Ted Ginn and was almost intercepted when Chicago went for it on fourth down in the first quarter, then gifted a would-be pick that was dropped by Justin Coleman. Trubisky threw all of his touchdowns in the fourth quarter when the Lions lost their top two corners to injuries. His TD to Anthony Miller was a back-shoulder fade, and he had short red-zone throws to Jimmy Graham and Javon Wims for his other scores. There were some shaky plays from Trubisky, who overthrew his receivers multiple times and took a 27-yard sack fumble, but he's gained some leash going into a Week 2 matchup with the Giants.
Giants vs. Bears Betting Prediction
The road team is 7-2 against the spread in the last nine meetings between these two teams and the underdog is a perfect 4-0 against the number the past four times the Giants and Bears have squared off. The Giants, meanwhile, have covered the number in five of their last six games against the Bears and are a perfect 4-0 in their last four trips to Chicago. While the Giants are at a disadvantage playing on a short week and having to travel, trusting Trubisky and a lackluster Chicago offense to cover by a touchdown is a big ask.
