Tennessee Titans Fantasy Spin
Marcus Mariota (quad) is practicing in full for Week 3 against the Jaguars. Mariota's "injury" was never considered serious. Headed on the road for a short-week matchup with a decent defense, Mariota is a barely-there QB2 for Week 3.
Jacksonville Jaguars Fantasy Spin
According to ESPN's Josina Anderson, Jalen Ramsey "doesn't anticipate" being a member of the Jaguars beyond Week 3. Ramsey's trade request stems from conflict with executive VP Tom Coughlin. Why the Jaguars would expose their star to injury on Thursday night if they intend on trading him immediately after is beyond our comprehension, though it appears Ramsey will be in uniform versus Tennessee. Per Anderson, the Chiefs, Eagles, Raiders, Ravens, Seahawks and Vikings have been the most aggressive in their pursuit of Ramsey, though "almost every team" has called the Jaguars to gauge his availability. Jacksonville is reportedly seeking a king's ransom for Ramsey, eying a pair of first-rounders as compensation for the two-time Pro Bowler.
NFL Betting Trends
Tennessee
The Titans are 4-0 against the spread in their last four meetings with the Jaguars overall but are 2-5-1 against the number in their last eight trips to Jacksonville.
Jacksonville
The home team is 6-2-1 against the number in the last nine meetings between the Jags and Titans.
Prediction
Rookie signal-caller Gardner Minshew has played well for the Jaguars given the circumstances, but will face a complicated Tennessee defense tonight on a short week of preparation. The Titans flustered Baker Mayfield in Week 1 and while they lost last week as a home favorite versus the Colts, it’s not as if Indy moved the ball at will. With Marcus Mariota continuing to be an up-and-down performer, the key tonight for the Titans is getting Derrick Henry rolling. It’s unlikely that he gauges the Jaguars front seven like he did a year ago, but he and Tennessee’s stout defense should be enough to get the Titans a W.
