Bills vs. Panthers Prediction
Will the Buffalo Bills cover as a road underdog this afternoon when they meet the Carolina Panthers in Week 2?
Who: Bills (1-0) at Panthers (1-0)
When: 1:00PM ET, Sunday, September 17
Where: Bank of America Stadium, Charlotte, NC
The Odds
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Panthers are now 6.5-point home favorites to beat the Bills after opening as an 8-point favorite. As for the total, the number hit the board at 42 but has been bet up to 43.
Buffalo Bills Betting Trends
The Bills have been a poor bet to cover on the road, failing to cash in four of their last five games away from Buffalo. They're also 1-4 at the betting window in their last five games following a victory and are 3-8 against the spread in their last 11 games overall.
Carolina Panthers Betting Trends
The Panthers have now covered the spread in four of their last five games dating back to last season, but are just 2-5 at the betting window in their last seven home games. They're also winless at 0-4 against the spread in their last four games after allowing less than 250 total yards in their previous game.

OUR PREDICTION: Even though the Panthers wound up blowing out the 49ers last week in Santa Clara, Carlos Hyde was still productive against Carolina's defense. That spells good news for LeSean McCoy, who will once again be the focal point of Buffalo's offense. If McCoy and the Bills are efficient on the ground and can avoid turnovers, their slightly improved defense should keep Cam Newton in check. Newton will be limited in practices in the early going because of his shoulder and he didn't do much a week ago against the 49ers. I like Buffalo to cover.
