According to oddsmakers at BetNow.eu, the Texans are favored on the road, as they are getting odds of -2 points against the Titans. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 44.5 points. The public betting for this game currently has 83 percent going on Houston on the road. This information is subject to change, however, so be sure to check out our NFL Public Betting Page for updated figures on the game.
Houston falls at New England
The Texans suffered a 27-20 loss at New England on the road in Week 1. Houston was a 6-point underdog going into the game while going under the 49.5-point total. The Texans has hit the under in six of their last seven games.
In the loss to the Patriots, the Texans gave up 389 yards to the Patriots and put up 325 yards of offense themselves. Deshaun Watson made his return to the field after a knee injury ended his season last year. He threw for 176 yards and a touchdown on 17 of 34 passing. He also rushed for 40 yards. Lamar Miller was the leading rusher with 20 carries for 98 yards.
Titans fall at Miami
The Titans had a marathon game at Miami, suffering a 27-20 loss that saw a pair of weather delays. The Titans were a 1-point favorite going into the game, but managed to go over the 43.5-point total. The Titans have hit the over in four of their last six games.
Tennessee put up 336 yards of offense in the loss but suffered some big injuries. Tight end Delanie Walker was put on IR due to an ankle injury while starting tackle Taylor Lewan left with a concussion and is questionable for Sunday’s game. Marcus Mariota also had to leave the game with an elbow injury, but is probable to play this week. Mariota threw for 103 yards and had two interceptions while rushing for 15 yards. Dion Lewis led the team in rushing with 75 yards on 16 carries.
NFL Betting Trends
Houston
The Texans have hit the under in six of their last seven conference games and in five of their last six road games.
Tennessee
The Titans have hit the over in eight of their last 11 games in September and in five of their last seven at home.
Prediction:
The home team rolled through both games last season, but the Texans were without Watson in the second meeting. In the first with Watson, Houston put up 57 points. Houston has the ability to score on this Tennessee team. Miami moved the ball on them and I think the Texans will too. Houston didn’t look tremendous on defense last week, so I expect the Titans to do enough to help hit the over.
NFL Prediction: Texans/Titans Over 44.5
