Washington Redskins

Chris Thompson (leg) is not listed on the injury report. It confirms he will be ready to face the Cardinals on Sunday. Thompson sat out the entire preseason after saying he will not be 100 percent until November, but coach Jay Gruden has said the Thompson "looks fantastic." Adrian Peterson is going to start, but it would not be surprising if Thompson should see plenty of touches.

Arizona Cardinals

Cardinals DE Markus Golden (knee) is out for Week 1 against the Redskins. Golden is recovering from a torn ACL and hasn't practiced all week. The Cardinals chose to remove him from the PUP list over the weekend, so it's still likely he suits up and plays some time in the club's first six games. He should still be considered questionable for Week 2.

While nobody knows what to expect out of Adrian Peterson, the Redskins are likely to play it safe with Alex Smith and use long, methodical drives to take control of the game. On the other side, the Cardinals have no choice but to make David Johnson the focal point as the fragile Sam Bradford will be stuck behind Arizona’s suspect offensive line. I expect this game to be tight but to play out low-scoring throughout.
