Public Betting Trends
According to our NFL Football Public Betting Chart page, the Packers are receiving 55% of the betting tickets from online sportsbooks.
Green Bay Packers Fantasy Spin
Jimmy Graham (finger) was upgraded to "full" in Tuesday's practice. Graham's finger isn't a concern ahead of Thursday's opener, but his 2018 play is. Graham figures to experience some positive scoring regression this season after finding the end zone only twice in 2018, but he looks like a touchdown-dependent TE2 in fantasy.
Chicago Bears Fantasy Spin
Trey Burton (groin) is questionable for Thursday's Week 1 opener against the Packers. He was again limited in Wednesday's walkthrough practice and figures to be a game-time call following warmups tomorrow night. Even if Burton plays, which almost seems unlikely, he won't be a recommended fantasy play. He could see his snaps dialed back after barely doing any practicing this summer.
NFL Betting Trends
Green Bay
The over is 7-1 in the Packers’ last eight games played in Week 1.
Chicago
The under is a perfect 5-0 in the Bears’ last five games.
Prediction
The over has been a solid bet when these two teams have played, cashing in four of the last five meetings overall and in five of the last six meetings in Chicago. It could take some time for the Packers’ offense to find its rhythm in new head coach Matt LaFleur’s scheme, but that’s off-set in this matchup by the Bears transitioning defensively from Vic Fangio (now in Denver) to new defensive coordinator Chuck Pagano. The Bears were the league’s best defense in 2018 but the Packers have plenty of firepower offensively in Davante Adams, Geronimo Allison, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Aaron Jones and, of course, Aaron Rodgers. It might take a quarter or so for the offenses to get rolling, but eventually I see this being a shootout.
