49ers vs. Vikings Preseason Pick
Are the Vikings laying too many points to the 49ers in preseason play tonight at 8:00PM ET?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Vikings are 6.5-point home favorites versus the 49ers after opening as a 4.5-point favorite. As for the total, the number currently sits at 41 points after hitting the board at 42.
SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS: The 49ers dropped to 1-1 in preseason play with a 33-14 loss to the Broncos last week. Brian Hoyer was 8-for-11 passing for 89 yards but was also intercepted, while rookie C.J. Beathard went 7-for-12 for 110 yards and a touchdown. Carlos Hyde led the team in rushing, carrying eight times for 26 yards.
MINNESOTA VIKINGS: The Vikings also lost last week, falling 20-13 to the Seahawks in Seattle. Sam Bradford went 7-for-11 for 95 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions. Tyler Heinicke also completed 6-of-9 passes for 84 yards, plus threw a touchdown and was intercepted. Rookie Dalvin Cook rushed seven times for 40 yards in the loss.

OUR PREDICTION: Six-and-a-half is a lot of points to lay in a preseason game. The 49ers may only win a handful of games this season but that doesn't mean that they won't show up tonight, or that the Vikings treat this like a regular-season game. This game somewhat reminds me of yesterday's Colts and Steelers matchup, which should have been lopsided given the fact Pittsburgh was anywhere between a 5 and 6-point favorite. Indy won outright. I see value in the Niners.
