Saints Season Win Total Prediction
The New Orleans Saints reached the Divisional round of the NFL playoffs a year ago after fixing their defense and adding yet another dynamic offensive player through the draft. Will they repeat that success by winning another 10 games in 2018?
New Orleans Saints Betting Odds
According to oddsmakers, the Saints have an over/under of 9.5 for their win total in 2018. The Saints are also 16/1 to win the Super Bowl, are 17/2 to win the NFC Championship, and are 7/5 favorites to win the NFC South Division in 2018.
Offseason Additions
The Saints added received Cameron Meredith, formerly of the Bears, as well as tight end Ben Watson and guard Jermon Bushrod. They also signed Tom Savage to help back up Drew Brees, then added Jay Bromley, Demario Davis, Patrick Robinson and Kurt Coleman to their improved defense.
The Saints also went defense with their first pick in April’s draft, selected UTSA defensive end Marcus Davenport. In the third round they took UCF receiver Tre’Quan Smith and in the fourth, they added Florida State offensive tackle Rick Leonard.
Offseason Departures
Zach Line, Coby Fleener, Zach Strief, Andrew Tiller, Senio Kelemete, Nick Fairley, Gerald Hodges, Delvin Breaux, Kenny Vaccaro and Rafael Bush are no longer with the team.
Saints Season Win Total Prediction
If the Saints’ offensive line can stay healthier than it did in 2017, this offense is absolutely incredible. They already had Brees, Alvin Kamara and Michael Thomas, but they additions of Meredith and Watson will offer more depth and dimension to Sean Payton’s offense.
The problem is that the Saints face a top-five schedule of defenses, including the largest shift in difficulty from 2016 of any team according to Warren Sharp of SharpFootballAnalysis.com. New Orleans’ defense also faces a top-five schedule, one that includes four games against Matt Ryan and Cam Newton, as well as the Rams, Eagles and Steelers in their non-division schedule. As talented as this Saints team is, I could see a regression after New Orleans went 11-5 last year.
New Orleans Saints Season Win Total Prediction: Under 9.5
