Will Murray win Offensive Rookie of the Year honors?

Kyler Murray is full of potential as the No. 1 overall pick of the 2019 NFL Draft by the Arizona Cardinals. Will Murray take the NFL by storm in his first year and win Offensive Rookie of the Year?

According to oddsmakers, Murray is a +600 favorite to win Offensive Rookie of the Year. Washington quarterback Dwayne Haskins has the next-best odds at +700, while Raiders running back Josh Jacobs comes in at +800. Murray put up video game numbers in his lone season as starting quarterback at Oklahoma on his way to the Heisman Trophy. He threw for 4,361 yards and completed 69 percent of his passes for 42 touchdowns against seven interceptions. He also rushed 140 times for 1,001 yards and 12 touchdowns. His awesome season propelled the Sooners to a spot in the College Football Playoff, where they lost in the semifinals by a count of 45-34 to Alabama.

But the questions arise as to whether Murray's game will translate well to the NFL as he is undersized at 5-foot-10, but with the way the pro ranks have evolved height at quarterback isn't the necessity it felt like it used to be. But whether Murray can have a strong enough rookie campaign to win top honors will have a lot to do with his supporting cast. Future Hall of Fame wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald is still around, but no one is expecting anywhere close to prime Fitzgerald anymore. Running back David Johnson was one of the best in the NFL a couple years ago, but since a wrist injury he has struggled to regain his top form and last year's coaching staff didn't exactly put him in the best spots to succeed. If Johnson can have a bounceback season, it would go a long way toward easing the pressure off Murray and allow him to play to his strengths.

Former starting quarterback Josh Rosen, traded last month to the Miami Dolphins, was pressured and sacked a lot behind a shoddy offensive line. While Murray has the tools to escape pressure a little better, the Cardinals need to do a much better job at protecting their quarterback if Murray is to win Offensive Rookie of the Year.

While Haskins will get his shot in D.C. and Jacobs is likely to get the most totes in the Oakland backfield, a longshot to consider is Hardman. He will likely be tasked with filling the shoes of Tyreke Hill, who might never play another down for the Chiefs due to the allegations of child abuse. If Hardman receives the opportunity and the targets, it's hard to not like his chances in an offense that is still expected to be dynamic under the guidance of head coach Andy Reid and quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
