Patriots 4/1 to win Super Bowl LII after acquiring Brandin Cooks 3/12/17

The Patriots remain favored to win Super Bowl LII following their blockbuster trade with the Saints for receiver Brandin Cooks.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Patriots have 4/1 odds to win the 2018 Super Bowl, making them the clear favorites over the rest of the field. The Cowboys have the next-best odds to win it all at 11/1, while the Falcons, Packers and Seahawks are all 12/1, respectively to win the Super Bowl next season.

On Friday evening the Patriots acquired Cooks and a 2017 fourth-round pick from the Saints in exchange for their 2017 first-and-third-round picks. Tom Brady will now have the speedster Cooks to go along with Julian Edelman, Rob Gronkowski, Chris Hogan and Malcolm Mitchell. Cooks is a legitimate deep threat that can take the top off a defense at any moment. Despite all their weapons, the Patriots didn't have a receiver like Cooks currently in their offense.

Speaking of Butler, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Patriots are still shopping Butler. Seeing as how New England parted with multiple picks to acquire Cooks, don't be surprised if Bill Belichick attempts to recoup one of those picks in a deal for Butler. One would think he could land at least a third-round pick for Butler, the team's former Super Bowl hero.
