Le'Veon Bell Offseason Prop Odds
All indications are that the Pittsburgh Steelers plan to use the transition tag on free agent Le’Veon Bell this offseason. That said, the team is not expected to keep Bell, so who will wind up with the talented running back in 2019?
According to oddsmakers from online sportsbook Sportsbook.com, the Steelers actually have the best odds to keep Bell at 5/1. These odds are likely linked to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette report that indicated the Steelers plan to use the transition tag on Bell. The first day Pittsburgh can apply the tag is next Tuesday and Bell would have to agree to sign the tag. That could be problematic, so too could the Steelers’ desire to trade Bell once he does sign the tag.
Besides the Steelers, the team with the best odds to have Bell in uniform for Week 1 of the 2019 regular season is the Buccaneers at 7/1. While Tampa Bay hasn’t been directly linked to Bell recently, the Colts, who are 8/1 to land Bell, have. That said, ESPN’s Mike Wells does not expect the Colts to pursue Bell, despite his desire to play in Indianapolis.
Who else could land Bell for the 2019 season? The Jets and Ravens are also 8/1, respectively, followed by the Dolphins and Texans at 10/1, respectively. The Packers have 12/1 odds to acquire or sign Bell, while the Raiders are 14/1. The Chiefs, Eagles, Lions, Redskins and 49ers are all 18/1, respectively, while the Bills and Browns are 20/1, respectively.
The deep long shots to acquire Bell this offseason are the Broncos and Seahawks at 25/1, respectively, followed by the Patriots at 30/1. That said, the Steelers won’t deal Bell to the Patriots, considering New England has been a thorn in their sides for years.
